There is no popular vote. It’s a fictional statistic pushed for sensationalism.
And this is exactly why we have an electoral college.
Wait for it.... “no mandate!”
Good thing we’re not a mob-rule democracy.
/aka who gives heck
The framers were freaking geniuses!
This is mainly due to over-votes in California and New York. Fortunately, we don’t elect based on popular vote, or the level of cheating by democrats would be orders of magnitude greater, since every cheated vote would count.
Are they making their move?
Good. #who_cares? Hah!!!
The Electoral College was originally devised to prevent a few large population centers from determining the presidential election, which is basically the election of the Federal Government.
It still isn’t working as originally intended, because all the electors cast their votes according to the majority popular vote in their state, which is still dominated by a few large population centers.
Thankfully, this still mitigates the popular vote enough to allow a populist or conservative president to win on occasion.
If electors were truly elected and cast their votes according to the popular vote of their respective DISTRICTS, the Democrats wouldn’t have a chance, as plainly revealed by the “County” maps of elections in the U.S.
The vast preponderance of counties in the U.S. almost always chooses the Republican.
Dimocrats never understand that we’re not a democracy.
Your title: Clinton takes lead in national popular vote
NO SUCH ARTICLE
Joe, did you get the proof you were looking for last night?
Looks like LS, and his reports were quite accurate.
So I look fox news and on the map they have not called some obvious wins for trump.
I went to bed with a heavy heart just before she conceded.
I woke up to good news!
God protect us all.
The popular vote is skewed by the populous blue states like NY and CA. A good part of the vote is wasted in those states in the actual election, yet when national polls are taken, they show up. That’s why a +4 Clinton lead in some polls going into the election translated to a tighter Electoral College race.
Hillary won three large states with lopsided margins: New York, California, and Illinois. Hillary won nearly five million more votes than Trump in just those three states alone. That’s why you have the popular vote tilting to Hillary. Meaningless, but still disturbing that those three states are no longer competitive for any Republican. Take away Chicago, New York City, LA and San Francisco’s lopsided Democrat votes, and those three states might have a chance again.
Who made this up? We should know well by now that all msm intuitions are by default corrupt and wrong.
Google, fascist and globalist Eric Schmidt? The a-holes that spike searches that they don’t like.
If it’s true that CA and NY never count their absentee votes, then we never have a complete count anyway.
Didn’t Soros say Trump would win the popular vote and lose the electoral vote?
