The FBI has reopened the investigation into Clinton’s handling of classified emails Now what?

Okay FBI Director James Comey has made a huge 180 and has reopened the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified secrets in her emails. Now what does this Black Swan occurrence mean? Is Hillary Clinton’s campaign mortally wounded? It might just be; this might just be the end of the Clinton campaign for president.

It is hard to imagine a scenario under which this latest hit does not harm Clinton regardless of the certain media circling of the wagons around her.

The damage can be; at one end about a 2 point hit in the polls or go all the way up a major collapse of her polling numbers. It is likely that the damage will shake out somewhere in the middle causing damage in the 4 to 7 point range. That would be fatal.

Time is actually on Donald Trump’s side because this investigation will be hanging over Hillary’s every move right up to Election Day. There is no way this can be wrapped up in the brief time left before the election.

Nevertheless, it puts her on defense and when you are on defense you are not winning. It will leave her bashed and blooded.

It is a good guess that James Comey has been under "blow torch” pressure to make some effort, however half-hearted, to reclaim the FBI’s seriously tarnished reputation.

The pot must have started to boil when Comey made his jaw dropping announcement last summer saying he saw nothing that would make him want to prosecute Clinton for her “careless” handling of state secrets.

There are legions of honest FBI agents – many whom probably joined the agency immediately after 911 for “God and Country.”

They must have been livid and red faced with embarrassment when that happened; but even more so over the last few days when they learned that one of their top investigators Andrew McCabe obviously sold out the integrity of the FBI for $500,000 to pay for his wife’s campaign for state senate in Virginia.

The finals straw must have been the news that the money to pay for the crook’s wife’s failed campaign came from a fund raiser Hillary Clinton did in coordination with the crooked Governor of Virginia Terry McAuliffe.

Now FBI Director Comey has taken the only step he had left to try to head off an open rebellion in the nation’s Police Department. He has reopened the case he and the Democrats thought was dead and buried.

This won’t be settled anytime soon but that’s a good thing; let Hillary Clinton have her richly deserved sleepless nights filled with nightmares of being put on trial – not in a court of law but in the court of public opinion where she cannot win and there is no such thing as an appeal.

The biggest Black Swan so far has landed on Hillary Clinton’s head.

Just the fact that the case is open makes her look guilty to a lot of people, that's just human nature.

A service mortgage company tried to steal my land once by "setting aside" a payment, "paying ahead" for 7 months and then suddenly adding on thousands in fees, saying I was late and behind. When you call they say "oh, yes, made a mistake, we'll fix it." Just a stall until they can foreclose. Well, I'm a smart FReeper and read how they did this to others so I defeated them using the State Attorney General, Congressman and some other agencies all at once. Took me a couple of months.

Now bear in mind I always made every payment and I had the proof. But whenever I told friends or family about this situation and I was facing eviction they would look at me sadly and say "but why can't you make the payments, Wayne?"

Point being that just the accusation or investigation from an official source will make many people assume guilt even if you calmly and logically explain you have proof you are not guilty. This is a huge setback for Hillary Clinton.

I think it’s a ploy by the top echelon of the Democrat Party to force her out of the race and put Kaine atop the ticket. She is tanking and they have way too much to lose.

Opening tonight: Me again: Breaking news, we have miss finland here who will demonstrate exactly how Donald Trump groped her 10 years ago. We will also have other guests, Gloria Alred who will brief us on the laws that were broken. Next up after that, GOP former presidental candidate Mitt Romney will talk with us about how slimy he thinks Trump is.
After that, I will report about a private conversation I had with that predator Trump when he visited me with Roger Ailes.
We will be then opening up our bimbo hotline wherein we will take anonymous calls from women, and perhaps a few men, who say they were attacked by Trump.

Just a ploy to move wiki off until after election. If Clinton wins, FBI finds nothing.

If Trump wins, Obama pardons and Hillary gets to keep her ill gotten gains for retirement.

Either way, Hillary wins.

Nothing. Designed to alleviate some of the pressure off Comey by this upset he was involved in the fix. It will fizzle after the election if she wins.

They have to run out the clock until after 8 November. At that point either the lame-duck 0bama issues a blanket pardon or Her Heinous anticipates taking office and crushing the thing from there. There is little to no chance of an impeachment either way, and if the Dems win, Comey’s job is safe and we’re in for another four years of a thoroughly, systematically corrupted Justice Department. It’s good that the weasel is feeling the heat, and I guess that’s something, but the system has already failed us irrecoverably with respect to the election. But Comey should know that if you run the clock out on justice, you run the clock out on redemption as well.

It means that he thinks Trump will be the next president and doesn’t want to be investigated himself.

If you've read Ed Klein's Guilty as Sin, there are two basic takeaways: 1) Klein believes James (aka "Jimmy The Weasel") Comey very much wanted to prosecute Hillary!® and 2) He was given the go-ahead to conduct a thorough investigation, but the rug was pulled from under him by the DOJ once it became clear that neither Biden, Warren, nor any other viable candidate was willing to take on the Clinton smear machine.

When it became absolutely impossible for 0bama to replace Hillary!®, then Lynch told Comey that if he recommended prosecution her hand-picked prosecutor would try the case in a way that Hillary!® was acquitted. Thus, Comey would be left with a completely destroyed reputation as the first FBI director to interfere in a US presidential political campaign that, by virtue of a not guilty verdict would make Hillary!® stronger than ever, and make the investigation seem completely partisan.

I don't personally buy this explanation, but it does fit the timeline, and it would explain Comey's press conference wherein he did everything in the world but declare Hillary!® Clinton guilty. He did the most damage he could possibly do, given Lynch's corruption.

I don't personally buy this theory. I think James ("Jimmy The Weasel") Comey is a dirty cop and has been in on the fix since the beginning, including dragging out the investigation while 0bama tried to pressure Biden, and then Warren, to take on Hillary!®. I think this is all just a smokescreen to diffuse whatever dissension there is in the ranks of the FBI -- MAYBE even short circuit some high profile resignations that would hurt him, the FBI, and Hillary!® even more than reopening the case.

Again, Comey will guarantee that nothing will come of this. I think Comey is one of the Thomas Cromwell's of our time: doing whatever the ruling class tells him to do.

I should run for office. I'm usually awake at 3 PM, thanks to my bladder.

Exactly right. Several high profile whistle blowers or resignations will hurt Comey, the FBI, and Hillary FAR MORE than "reopening" the investigation.

This is a sop to silence the dissenters and nothing more.

“....has more on COMEY.”

Specifically, evidence showing Comey’s involvement in collusion. He’s trying to backpedal as fast as he can now.

Is Hillary Clinton’s campaign mortally wounded? It might just be; this might just be the end of the Clinton campaign for president.

FBI investigations take time. This will likely drag on until after the election and thus will be unable to mortally wound Hillary's campaign.

Right now I’m really hating Comey. There’s nothing significant known now that wasn’t obvious to all of us in July.

--And it’s all over the networks who are at this very moment grouping together to try and spin this to favor HRC.

Good luck with that! They are all talented in the spin department but this has sent them back on their heels....HUGELY!!

Maybe the FBI has gotten the word from another intelligence organization that the remaining email will really be leaked, and there is smoking gun evidence in those emails of intent. Like "Wipe the Server -- HRC."

More likely explanation is that this is FBI in full damage control mode for Hillary; one or more high ranking FBI officials really is pressuring Comey, maybe threatening to go public. In which case, that would be a LOT more damaging to HRC than "reopening" the investigation.

Has there ever been a candidate for President who was under investigation by the FBI?

Bluejean-I agree too. This is a way to save Hillary’s ass. I am not buying this. It’s a distraction to get Trump and his voters off message. DO NOT FALL for this people!

It’s the slow burn effect of letting her of, combined with the Dems running around as if she was already President, that has enraged huge numbers of the FBI.

I’d say total panic at the top of the FBI, they know that if Trump wins, their staff will give Chapter and Verse to the next head and they will spend the rest of their lives in the slammer....
