By Will Dahlgreen BBC News Women work on average 39 more days a year than men according to the World Economic Forum.
Women work on average 50 minutes more a day than men, data from the WEF's Global Gender Gap report suggests.
The report says the prevalence of unpaid work burdens women and estimates that economic inequalities between the sexes could take 170 years to close.
The gap in economic opportunity, the WEF says, is now larger than at any point since 2008.
Nearly a quarter of a billion women have entered the global workforce over the past decade, the report says.
Although men do 34% more paid work than women, women still spend more of their time on unpaid work such as housework, childcare and care for older people.
When this is factored in, the WEF calculates women work more than a month more than men per year.

Bullshit !
In the office, most women take more days off than men, are more often than not less capable, have no shame about asking others to do their work for them.
At home, what about the auto repairs, lawn mowing, painting, appliance repairs, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, computer repairs, and coaching sports teams, scouting, karate, take the kids to the doctor, and on, and on.
Boo hoo. Nobody agitates or cries for me. Suck it up, ladies. Nowadays PC rules and no one really even appreciates the effort it takes to do the jobs men do. Anything I can do THEY can do better. They really contemptuously believe that crap today.
Not sure I believe any of this this: Most studies show women LESS likely to work as many hours a week (at a salaried or paid job) than m en.
Are they counting hours-at-home as well? Certainly, that would add more to most women’s weeks. But NOT to their paychecks.
My wife works one floor above me and she is constantly gets off work about 30 minutes later than I.
The reason? I consider charting in a patient’s chart as part of the appointment. She gives the patient the full appointment time and charts after the appointment is over.
Who is right and wrong? We both get high scores in patient satisfaction. What accounts for our style? She is more nurturing. I am more to the point.
If housework is included on the woman’s side, then the honey-do list must be included. And all mandatory social events count as work for men. I’m pretty sure the scales will come back into balance.
Most of my bosses were women. MOST were man haters and obviously couldn’t get laid so they destroyed and emasculated every guy under them.
It takes time to make a sandwich, bringing a beer, I respect ‘em for that work./s don’t hit, me, my daughter already has.
Great to hear. More time for men to R&R in their favorite watering hole without a big mouth spoiling the atmosphere.

We take out the trash!
Doesn’t mean much unless you know how many working women have a maid.
If God intended them to do anything beside kitchen work, why did he fill them up with Milk and Eggs?

This is well beyond "Junk", even "Utter Junk". Such "studies" are more properly described as "Absolute, Unmitigated Garbage", although I'm not even quite sure that's sufficient.

Not all jobs are created equal.
I don't care how many hours a woman who answers phones or waits tables works. Her job has nowhere near the physical demands as a construction worker.
Currently I commute 72 miles each way. When I was working 12 hour days and started at 7, my commute time was 3-1/2 hours every day. Do they include commute times?
Construction workers are overwhelmingly men. Often commuting an hour or more each day.
When it's raining, construction workers often have to suck it up and deal with it. In high heat, they often start earlier in the AM to avoid some of the higher heat. In winter, they have to wear an extra 10# of clothing to keep warm. Meanwhile women in offices complain that the AC is 2 degrees too cold for them.
When work is slow at home, construction workers often go on the road for work. Meanwhile, how many woman leave home for days, weeks or months on end, to work?
