Investor's Business Daily ^ | 10/19/2016 | John Merline

Posted on 10/19/2016 9:47:46 AM PDT by IBD editorial writer

After more than a week of blistering attacks from Democrats, celebrities and the press, Donald Trump has managed to pull ahead of Hillary Clinton by 1 percentage point — 41.3% to 40% — in a four-way matchup, according to the new IBD/TIPP poll released today. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson got 8% and Green Party candidate Jill Stein got 6%. The results are the first in the IBD/TIPP presidential tracking poll. Daily updates start Thursday and will continue until the election. The IBD/TIPP poll previously was monitoring support for the candidates in the 2016 election on a monthly basis.

This is the one to trust, more that the others.. regardless who’s up... the fact that Trump is up after all of the abuse and lies he’s weathered is a damn good one sign...

This, more than Ras or LATimes, is the one that should make us smile, based on their track record

According to the ‘G*d-like’ Nate Silver and the NYT, the following four pollsters were the most accurate in 2012 . . .

http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/10/which-polls-fared-best-and-worst-in-the-2012-presidential-race/?_r=0

IBD/TIPP
Google Consumer Surveys
Mellman
RAND (USC/LA Times)

And Trump leads or is tied in THREE of them!

GET OUT AND VOTE

No excuses, no BS . . .

So its hard to argue the race has not tightened, at least within the polling, but the polling showing Hillary up 7 or 12 is just ludicrous...

The question at this point is, is there a monster vote or not? If so, Trump wins solidly... if not, its a squeaker either way.... I think if its a squeaker, its still Trump’s... momentum will carry him over the top in a close race.

The debate is tonight, we’ll see what happens there... if anything...

How come we have like 3-4 polls showing TRUMP ahead or even but FOX News never mentions them but keep saying TRUMP is down like 6-8 points!!!

Maybe these Pollsters figured out the turnout for 2016!!!!

PPD, Rasmussen, IBD, LA Times, and to some extent UPI/CVoter are what we should be following at this point. There is a huge dichotomy between MSM media polls and what non-affiliated and largely Internet driven polls. We are about to find out which ones are correct this cycle.

The way Trump can win this election:

While the economy, jobs, mishandling of classified information, and Clinton’s overall lack of honesty and trustworthiness is important to discuss, the one issue Trump should talk about tonight is the US Supreme Court:

“Ladies and gentleman, do you really want the United States Supreme Court, for the next 20-30 years, to be run by a radical leftist majority, which will lead to the destruction of the country we know and love, including our right to keep personal firearms for the protection of ourselves and family, the opening of our borders which will allow millions more undocumented people to swarm into our country taking jobs and flooding our already crowded schools and drastically expanding our welfare rolls?”

“That’s what will happen if Hillary Clinton is elected the next president”

Please think about that before you cast your vote.”

Trump is behind by eleven points then suddenly he pulled ahead ahead by one point.

So now the Media meme is that Trump is surging ahead

After the debate the meme will that Clinton has become the comeback kid who turned it all around with new momentum and is surging back into the lead with mojo to win the election in the home stretch.

They really think we are that stupid.

They are right.

Note On Essential Tactics

I do not want to come across as arrogant; but based on 60+ years of fighting for traditional American values, including hours of using live TV to advantage, I want to share some experience driven suggestions, both for our candidate, and all of us who will be actively promoting a Trump victory in just 20 days.

While speaking in anger can sometimes help rally those who share your beliefs and priorities, it is not the most effective way to convert those who dissent from our purpose. When there is a real problem to be addressed, it is almost always better to speak in sorrow than in anger.

In the present ideological conflict, there is great reason for sorrow. We need to interject, in every possible exchange, those contemporary phenomena that are not only unfortunate from our stand point; but which are likely to be understood as sad by anyone listening to us.

Putting this understanding to work in a situation such as tonight's Presidential debate; Trump needs to intertwine his response to essential policy issues, by sadly lamenting the background social climate, which certainly impacts all aspects of contemporary American life, including the problem reflected in the issue. For example:

The decline in pride in heritage, openly encouraged by Obama's repeated apologies to others for America's traditions & achievement--leading to Americans kneeling through the Star Spangled Banner;--his & Mrs. Clinton's siding with Soros financed thugs against the Police--leading to the cold blooded assassination of American cops;--their refusal to protect the border, leading to job losses among rooted Americans, brutal crimes against American women, and the despicable riots in California, where aliens who do not share our values, or honor our heritage, intimidate local officials into not celebrating the achievements of the Founding Fathers and their posterity.

It was only last week, when anti-American culturalists advocated not celebrating Columbus Day! The Obama/Clinton cabal seem intent on denying that our values & achievements, under uniquely American cultural values, grew directly out of the experience driven values of particular European settlers. That is fact. It takes nothing away from the achievements or values of any other people; but it is our fact, and we are entitled to honor that fact and the rich cultural heritage it reflects.

To the extent that the Obama/Clinton cabal would deny us pride in our history, they are truly bigoted enemies. But we do best, again, when we lament the success of our enemies, as we explain, again quietly and sadly, how totally despicable is this ongoing attack, coming indeed from those who have benefited so much, while gaming our system.

Some may think that this approach is going soft. It is precisely the opposite. In place of venting our wrath at the Obama/Clinton betrayal, we begin to instill wrath in some of those who otherwise would simply go along with the enemy, "to get along."

There is nothing the least bit new in these tactics. Anyone familiar with Shakespeare's play "Julius Caesar," is quite familiar with the technique. It worked in the play because it reflects a true understanding of the psychological factors involved.

I do agree.

I’m not dismissing Rasmussen, but he was wrong in 2012. Said Romeny was going to win.

USC/LaTimes. They have taken alot of abuse from MSM people. But they (Latimes) may be correct in their poll.

IBD/TIPP made my day.

Trump has carried the ball to the goal line. Now it’s up to the GOP to decide if they want to block for him, score a touchdown and win the White House.

RCP average is 6.2 now. Dropped a point since early this morning. Some of the media polls also show a Clinton fade.

So do I, I think that has been greatly ignored by the polls.

The Green Party is going to be a factor in some States, taking support away from Hillary.
