Levin: Staying home on Election Day? Don't pretend you're doing the 'moral' thing
CR ^ | October 10, 2016 | Phil Shiver

Posted on 10/15/2016 10:00:09 AM PDT by conservative98

“I’m starting to think about this morality stuff,” Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin said as he began his radio show Monday night. “Everything we do should involve morality … but let me ask you a question: If you were alive during George Washington’s times, would you have voted for George Washington?”

Levin then went on to list the moral failings of past politicians from the slave-owning founders, to the adulterous John F. Kennedy, to Bill Clinton himself, and so on.

“I’m not defending Donald Trump,” Levin exclaimed. “I’m trying to understand hypocrisy.” Referring to the Republican lawmakers that have since dropped their support for Donald Trump following the release of a 2005 video where Trump makes lewd remarks about women.

Levin never gave approval to what Trump said in the 2005 audio tape, in fact, he called it “disgusting” and “pathetic.” But he made clear he did not intend to join the “RINOs” who are using it as an excuse for pulling their support.

At the close of the clip, Levin declared, “It is NOT the moral and principled thing to do to stand down in this election ... It is NOT the conservative thing to do to stand down in this election.”

Agree on the spine but think that you’re being a bit generous on the common sense third. I am continually amazed at so called intelligent people that can only parrot what some “journalist” says. Look at the hysteria on these threads and weigh against the common sense of yesteryear.

Dismal ratings!? Hardly...they signed him in for another 9 years most recently.

The actually called it a lifetime contract. That does not mean he hasn't lost listeners because he has. I tune him in until he starts ragging on Trump, which most days is less that 2 minutes, then off he goes.

Many have tied themselves into knots to justify the voting of someone all know is a liberal with some conservative positions.

Like some here that have tied theirselves to someone that has zero conservative positions and promises to appoint Justices that will obliterate the Constitution, all so they can claim moral superiority.

Your constant whining does you and your service, a disservice.

I am truly hoping that he means what he says but that doesn’t mean we don’t raise strong objections when he strays from conservatism at the price of getting more votes

You think he loses votes when he strays from your version of conservatism. I challenge your assumption and your motivation.

happy that Levin is out there, pulling him farther to the Right.

Which of the other candidates promised to build a wall and deport illegals? Well GW did, McCain did, Dole did, Romney did. Which ones did you believe?

If calling out obvious observations such as childcare on the backs of tax payers as well as a form of healthcare as tax payer funded, and a back track to those already here as whining then I guess I’m a whiner.

Is he the best we have? Sure. Is he someone under normal circumstances I’d vote for? Not in the least. Has this years election been a fun show? You betcha.

I’ll move along now and pretend to see nothing. Not hold him accountable to anything, remember it’s just words...just only words...

And P.S. My service has absolutely nothing at all to do with this election or my observations. Your attempts to malign my viewpoints up against my honorable service is quite frankly disrespectful and disgusting

You service to the country is not in question, it is you backdoor method of helping Hillary that questions your service.

I listened to the great one podcast today telling all voters that the moral choice is to vote Trump, then spend a hour lambasting him. That is insanity.

I too have been conflicted at times in the back and forth he has done. Some of it valid other times though like you I question the motive. He states it is for principles of conservatism and pulling him on message and back to the right. To some extent I agree. Both sides have their motives . Trump fighting like a junk yard dog where there are no rules and Levin for what remains of conservatism. This has been one very intriguing campaign to say the least

Levin for what remains of conservatism.

I have been a Levin Fan for years but he has just went nuts over Cruz whom I contend in no way is an NBC. Levin like many Freepers just decided to overlook that whole issue because Cruz said a few good things, of corse Cristy was once revered for saying a few good things as well.

Once you accept that there is no party on our side your decision should be easy because Hillary would be the absolute end of anything that resembles a Constitutional Republic. Sure thing or Gamble what is hard about that decision?

I am probably somewhat older than you and remember a time when I was free, poor but free. Free is better.

I lost count how many other posters pointed out Jarhead’s inconsistency, but you chose mine to vent your ire....

Why, I don’t know

This is all I need......I’m sitting here with two swollen and bruised eyes from surgery yesterday, and very miserable

Your post doesn’t help
