Did Weaponized IRS Leak Trump's Tax Returns?
American Thinker ^ | October 4, 2016 | Daniel John Sobieski

This idea will be immediately dismissed in some quarters as just another conspiracy theory concocted by the vast right wing but it is not as far-fetched as it sounds. Several items lend credence to the idea that the IRS has once become an arm of the political left targeting conservatives.

Could it really be just coincidence that Hillary Clinton focused on Trump’s failure to release his tax returns, surmising that the reason might be he hasn’t been paying any taxes, just days before the New York Times printed pages from his 1995 return showing a loss that “may have” allowed him to not pay taxes for the next 18 years? Was this Hillary’s “October surprise” for Trump?

Here is what Hillary surmised during the first presidential debate:

So you've got to ask yourself, why won't he release his tax returns? And I think there may be a couple of reasons. First, maybe he's not as rich as he says he is. Second, maybe he's not as charitable as he claims to be.

Third, we don't know all of his business dealings, but we have been told through investigative reporting that he owes about $650 million to Wall Street and foreign banks. Or maybe he doesn't want the American people, all of you watching tonight, to know that he's paid nothing in federal taxes, because the only years that anybody's ever seen were a couple of years when he had to turn them over to state authorities when he was trying to get a casino license, and they showed he didn't pay any federal income tax.

Ya’ don’t answer these gotcha questions and setups... you don’t dialogue with the enemy... Ya’ take them out with one sentence and then go on to the next subject.

These nut cases have learned to push Trump’s buttons and get a response.. Donald, don’t fall for this!! I am scared silly that you are going to lose this election and I’d have to go somewhere and decide if it’s worth living here or taking up residence on an island somewhere. I can’t imagine hillary at the helm...

Explain that it is legal and he’d be dumb if he didn’t ... and then go to hillary subject... bring everything they charge back to hillary!!! hillary gave small donations to charity..hillary pocketed millions from foreign donors, who she owes all those favors to... hillary does not have time for the people... she wants the office to gain power OVER the people... hillary charges thousands for one speech which she pocketed in her foundation, which gives nothing to anyone but herself, bill and chelsea... hillary destroyed all her emails to cover up her criminality .. find out how much taxes hillary paid and then get back to me... hillary has not told the truth in all her life, and you dummies believe her... who’s the stupid here?

Just don’t dialogue with them... it gives them ammunition and you come off sounding weak.

since assange basically weaseled out tonight, the october surprise was on us, the tax returns.

Why is a tax return showing that Trump lost a lot of money and therefore didn't owe taxes a problem?

Don't fall into the leftist media's narrative of "he avoided paying taxes" when actually "he didn't owe taxes."

Trump's situation is no different than somebody who didn't earn enough money to have to pay income taxes - we certainly wouldn't say that person "avoided taxes".

What the whole affair does show is that the Democrats and their liberal allies are either really stupid, or think everybody else is.

Anybody who has ever lost a significant amount of money - and that includes most people who have started a business - know that you can carry forward losses and apply them against later income.

The fact that a lot of uninformed people can't even conceive of that idea shows that they really know nothing about being in business.

He did not release his tax forms. Nor should he. Those who broke the law to leak a few pages of a 1995 form (it is now 2016...21 years later) only revealed that he followed the law.

What is 10% of my current worth? Let’s imagine it’s about 40,000. Would anyone even notice if i took a 40000 loss on my taxes?

No. Because it’s legal.

I don’t care about trump’s taxes because he wasn’t a politician.

It’s obvious Hillary saw, or at least was told, what the tax returns would show. That’s why she said what she said at the debate. Numerous people should go to jail and will if Trump is elected. Will the great powers that stand the chance of going to jail allow Trump to win?

I think you’re half right. It gives the liberals a point to argue but it won’t change one vote.

One of two has the returns. The IRS, and the ex-wife. If the IRS released them, that’s a felony, and the NYT that published the partial returns also committed a felony.

Oh wait, the NYT and IRS are above the law. Never mind.
