"The republic is under siege by a moron," Springsteen says in excerpts from upcoming Rolling Stone feature. "It's a tragedy for our democracy"
Bruce Springsteen spent the summer playing stadiums with the E Street Band and preparing to release his autobiography, Born To Run, while largely staying clear of this year's presidential campaigns. In an excerpt from an extensive interview that will appear in the next issue of Rolling Stone, Springsteen shares his thoughts on Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, while addressing his own absence from the trail. Well, you know, the republic is under siege by a moron, basically. The whole thing is tragic. Without overstating it, it's a tragedy for our democracy. When you start talking about elections being rigged, you're pushing people beyond democratic governance. And it's a very, very dangerous thing to do. Once you let those genies out of the bottle, they don't go back in so easy, if they go back in at all. The ideas he's moving to the mainstream are all very dangerous ideas white nationalism and the alt-right movement. The outrageous things that he's done not immediately disavowing David Duke? These are things that are obviously beyond the pale for any previous political candidate. It would sink your candidacy immediately.

You're just too much of a moron to realize it.
Shut up and sing.
Thanks, fossil. You’ve re-invigorated my support for Trump.
Scream another song for us Brucee.
Bruce mumbles as he sings. Probably starting to forget the words. Chris Christie doesn’t mind though.
Bruce Springsteen - troubadour of the working class (not). Just another out-of-touch effete snob elitist who knows better than the rest of us.
Right out of Alinski.
Bruce “has been” Springsteen? Never could stand him.
Would a moron like Springsteen be able to recognize another moron? Probably not.
Drinkin’ too much Asbury Park water.
Bruce Springsteen is by far the most over-rated musician of the last quarter of the 20th century.
Now, there were scores of lousy musicians during that period, but none received the impossible accolades that Springsteen did.
We hear a lot from actors/actresses and rock ‘n’ rollers, folks who do extremely well shaking their asses and repeating lines fed to them by others.
For political insights, however, I’m somewhat more inclined to heed the Cheneys than the Springsteens.
That's what happens when for a half century you scream like a maniac into a mic and hold maniacal political views.
Lay down your money and you play your part
Like my mama used to say: “Takes one to know one”.
I’m a man but i like to use the women’s facilities.
I like to scare little girls

I was born in the USA!
I like the put on make up and wear women’s clothe
High heals and panty hose

I can’t stand a singer who sings as if he is Constipated.
Chris Christie’s favorite recording artist.
I have mixed feelings. Went to his concerts in the early days. What a backing band! Highly energetic showman with some great songs - albeit the voiceovers (personal stories) between songs were cloying and hardly varied. I’m tired about hearing how his conservative father was happy he didn’t get drafted and about it being zero degrees on the boardwalk at Christmastime.
He really does have a great catalog of music. Had he been not such an insufferable and knee jerk liberal, or at least kept his mouth shut about it, he would be hailed here as one of America’s greatest rock performers.
Please NO.....don't. Cant stand his voice. I
I was born and raised in NJ, so I have an almost instinctual appreciation of Springstein.
But, alas, he is a musician.
There are many things that make me uncomfortable about Trump, although as of today, I see no better alternatives.
Whatever one’s sentiments, though, I would never question Trump’s intelligence. Anyone that does so is either untruthful, naive, or just plain dumb.
