Au contraire! (:>)
She was saying that mastery of a second language was one sign of a well-educated person -- not the sole sign.
And congrats on leaving Cali-I wouldn’t want to be there, either, especially now that gov moonbeam is back...
My 1st husband was a PE-he was from NM, of Hispanic ancestry-and he spoke Spanish as his 2nd language, too...
I know what you wrote. I am pointing out the absurdity of it. If you are as educated and intelligent as you are bragging about, I would think you would understand the references. A child that learns a end language because it is spoken around them is hardly any more educated or intelligent than a child that grew up hearing only English.
It’s that pride in something that took no effort that is the hallmark of the illegals. They are so proud of their culture, they refuse to become Americans.
I’m not an academic, a snob or anything like that-just someone with a garden variety bachelors degree-that I haven’t used in my work in 12 years-I’m a blue collar worker-in construction-now because I love it, and I’m my own boss.
It is easier to learn a 2nd language as a child and be proficient-adults have a tougher time.
Do people of French ancestry who live in Louisiana, some other southern states, Washington, etc who speak French as a 2nd language bother you, people of Asian ancestry who speak Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc as a 2nd language-or do you only dislike those of us who speak Spanish?
Anyone who goes to live in another country should learn to speak the language native there-otherwise, how are you going to get work, buy stuff, etc-I do not believe in coddling people who go to a foreign place to live...
When MrT5 and I visited his family in Quebec, I noticed that signs and package labels were in both English and French-like the ones in English and Spanish here in the US-I don’t think either country should be using another language on a package/sign if English is the language spoken there most-neither did he, even though he spoke that French dialect...
don’t threaten - just do it
wow, using liberal tactics I see.
Telling me what I am bothered by and who I dislike and implying I am racist - is that you Hillary?
I don’t think anything makes one educated, except... an education.
In your mind, it’s much easier. I find that absurd.
And your liberal taunts - listed above - are also absurd. And I’m done wasting my time. Have a good evening.
Specifically Arab Muslims...I can’t go into detail but it has to do with why they feel comfortable there and their long term colonization goals.
Have a lovely evening-this was a discussion-not an argument or smear session-sorry you think everyone who disagrees with you is a liberal-especially since a liberal would hardly have been posting on this site since 2000...
geez, do you not read what you post?
You were not discussing anything, other than to insult me in between tirades about yourself that were irrelevant.
“Do people of French ancestry who live in Louisiana, some other southern states, Washington, etc who speak French as a 2nd language bother you, people of Asian ancestry who speak Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc as a 2nd language-or do you only dislike those of us who speak Spanish”
In one run-on sentence you imply I am racist, tell me what bothers me, and who I dislike.
Hillary couldn’t have done it better.
I don’t care how long you or anybody has been here - when someone uses Alinsky tactics, I point it out. It’s nasty and dishonest and I don’t fall for it.
I was not implying anything, sir-it was a question, nothing more-there is no need to jump to conclusions or insult someone by comparing them to crazy heifer Hillary-and dishonesty is not a trait of mine-neither is calling people racist or nasty-good grief...
Reread that sentence.
It’s not rocket science to see the innuendoes and inferences.
Kinda like watching the MSM tear down Trump while pretending to be impartial. IF you do that without noticing, that’s sad.
