It might only have been “LOOKED like he reached into his vehicle” but in our current system, that is deemed enough.

It still deserves the microscope, at the least. People who do not want such microscopes in occasions of question ought not to be in the police business, period.

Why of course. The blooming idiot’s life never could mean more than mine.

"100% good shoot!"

Looked like a good shot to me too. As soon as he moved his arm down...they were in the right to do what was necessary. Having been trained every year for 25 years in the use of deadly force, I'd have shot him and been in the right.

You mean, deemed under the current circumstances. However, 25 years is but a tiny tick on the clock of time.

>>Good shoot, the suspect did not follow commands and was either was heading back to his vehicle or attempting to carjack someone else. Bottom line, you cannot allow the suspect to reach into a vehicle for a weapon or allow him to get back into a vehicle where he could wreck havoc.

>>Good shot.

It will be a Glorious Day when the cops have finally killed everyone who doesn’t perfectly follow orders when confronting 4 government revenue collection agents and report takers. Hail Order. Hail Empire! Stronger Together!

They should have zapped him then. They had the drop on him, several policemen. He never would have been able to get anything out of the car. Sound to accompany the helicopter video would be informative, I agree. What was he suspected of, or did, that made him so hair trigger dangerous?

Yep, he made it back to the vehicle, there could have reached in for a weapon sitting on the seat and or he could have possibly fled in the vehicle, eventually taking hostages, blowing read lights possibly killing people etc. It certainly does not look like they had much of a choice.

Yes. . .and you can't see or hear what commands are being given and are being ignored. Normal procedure is the guy gets on the ground PRONTO. . .not slowly walk away and certainly not back to his car. Also, you can't clearly see what transpired because the view is impeded at the critical moment by the tree. . .The problem is that there is more than enough to contrive another "hands up" narrative for the Left to stir up the next hornet's nest.

Note to the general public: Resisting arrest, no matter what your race may be, will not end well.

I think he was possibly tased just prior to being shot. Hard to tell. They should have body cams that can tell close up story.

Looks like a ‘quick - swing the chopper around so the car blocks him so we can claim he was going for a gun when we shot him. Get the firing squad lined up and wait till the chopper swings around so the car is blocking, then fire away.’

It’s hard to tell from a distance, but that ‘appears’ to be a pistol on the ground next to the vehicle.

Impossible to tell what happened from an aerial shot like this, and on top of it, he is almost completely hidden by his vehicle when he gets felled as the aerial shot is on the opposite side of the vehicle from the person.

until he reached the driver door and or possibly an open window.

Door was definitely closed. Front window definitely closed (see reflection at the 41 second mark). Back window looks closed, as well (some reflection off of it at the 40 second mark.) The timing of the shooting and the movement of the chopper, and the burden is going to be on the cops to explain this one away.

I/m having a hard time seeing a justification for deadly force here.

Cop stops a suspect in the middle of a road, so its a serious case right off the bat. We can see, cop is pointing his gun at suspect. First thing cop will do is tell him to put his hands in the air. Suspect complies with that, but no doubt suspect has also been told to lie down (and NOT to walk away) and especially NOT to go into car to retrieve something.

Its not a negotiation at that point. Disobey commands and especially go to your car - and any cop in the country will see that as a mortal threat.

It also looks like a night incident. I’m seeing what looks like a flashlight beam on the ground and the helicopter/drone looks to be on infrared mode.

Doesn’t really matter if the window was open or not. He was 1 second away from the driver door handle and being seated in the vehicle. A vehicle that could have had a loaded weapon on the seat/keys in ignition, engine running etc.

That’s why they shot the suspect.

It looks like he brought his hands down right before he was shot. On top of that he was not following commands.

Yes, exactly. And, he reached into the vehicle. Now, he's dead.

"However, 25 years is but a tiny tick on the clock of time."

Well, it went by pretty fast to me. And the almost 15 years I've been retired has gone by even faster. The older you get, the faster time goes by.

In other words the suspect was only a second away from cover, a vehicle and a weapon or multiple weapons. It was a good shoot.
