RIP Gene Wilder.
I was shocked to read that he was 83-years-old. I had no idea!

I dated a girl in '85, who looked like she could pass for Teri Garr's sister.
She was going to beauty school and her class mates found a magazine photo of Teri. They would hold it up for customers to compare.

Gene Wilder was one of those unique talents that is never going to be replaced.
The place that made him no longer exists.
R.I.P., Gene, you are much loved.

I never would have guessed that was him.

Prayers up for that wonderful man and prayers for a cure for that hideous disease that’s blighted the lives of so many, including Pat Summit and my late father.
To: carriage_hill
Too bad! He was a comedic genius. :( Rest in peace, Mr. Wilder.

“Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein are two of the funniest movies of all time.”
Mel Brooks said you couldn’t possibly make Blazing Saddles today. The world has become too politically correct.

Actually, I think it’s absolutely charming. My dad is 90 and my mother is 86, I have similar photos of them that I treasure. How blessed to have a long life and be with someone you love.

Young Frankenstein still makes me laugh until I cry...every time. And I recite most of the dialogue with them...I may have to watch that tonight.

That’s my favorite scene! He’s a lunatic!
May he rest in peace. He was apparently ill for some time. Fabulous comic actor.

I knew I remembered that name.
I watched a lot of Get Smart when I was a kid.
Before the reruns.

In the original version of Roald Dahl’s book, the Oompa Loompas were African pygmies. That was changed in later versions of the book. By the time the film came around, it’d be pretty unlikely that any remnants of the pygmies remained. But throw a link my way if you have one proving me I’m wrong on this assumption. Thanks.

I felt so sorry for him when Gilda died. Both were so talented and respected each others talent. Sad. Sad.
