“Our millennials are unbelievably naive and scared of their own shadows...”

The puposeful dumbing-down of children has been going on for 100 years-—to destroy all Natural Instincts and common sense by removing children from the Natural family and putting them into completely controlled artificial environments and into artificial unnatural mass indoctrination systems and in front of screens to be literally programmed like Pavlov’s dog (complete dehumanization of children).

They keep them trapped in the system which embeds dependency only and inability to be critical thinkers (think for self) until they are 50 years old and haven’t a chance to “Wake Up” to what happened to their pathetic wasted frivolous, debt-filled life which was all programmed by the elite sodomites and addicting them to slavery of the State (systems/corporations).......Vice creates Slaves so they made “Vice” attractive in movies and sckool lessons for the kiddies so Evil is Good.

Without Virtue formation in children, civil society will collapse. There is no Freedom possible with evil, dumb people. Cicero knew that Wisdom is being able to discern Good and Evil and our schools literally teach that evil is good and good is evil....and make children completely irrational (where Up is Down and Boys are Girls).

Children only are capable of “feeling” in artificial modes-—since they are programmed from birth by artificial screens and institutions (day”cares” LOL). Removed from the humanizing and individualizing elements of Real Life—the mother/father/child which is the only system which does not severely warp a child’s sexual identity formation and which creates Free Will and Individualism that which is the antidote to collectivism (not thinking outside the State-allowed box). The Natural Family, mother and father literally gives them meaning and connection and Love (the Stories and history of family-—the meaningful things in Life) which makes Life beautiful and as God Designed it to be so children can be selfless—to truly Love others. They can flourish and understand Natural Rights include the Natural Duty—to care for your own biological offspring and educate them——not give them to perverts and systems which dehumanize and destroy individualism and Free Will.

It is the helicopter parenting style-—to embed dependency and fear of all risk (make risk EVIL) and create actual fear of man instead of fear of God in young children. They become emasculated, and de-feminized-—made to hate human nature (Natural Law) and elevate Mother Earth over human beings so killing old and babies is “kindness”—exact opposite of Christian Worldview which created the Age of Reason and Modern Science and the Constitution of the USA.

You can be “progressive” and use the newer body wash...

I’ll remain “conservative” and conserve my money using the old bar soap...

;^))

(Just joking you)

A good Panama Hat or Fedora is a lot more stylish.

Do you remember the new formula Brylcreem from the early 1960s? It wasn’t around long. The “sell” line was “IT WILL HELP YOU KEEP THE HAIR YOU HAVE GOT!”

Brylcreem and other such "old-style" hair products, scents and clothes have made a moderate comeback in popularity among millennials, for whatever reason.

I never could stand the stuff myself. Smells like cucumbers to me, and doesn't hold well either.

I know what you’re saying, but I wouldn’t go as far as 100 years...

Many of us grew up in the fifties on farms...My mom and dad had a cattle and tobacco farm in the Mountains of East Tennessee...Not a lot of artificial environment there....

To be fair, I do think the reaction against shampoo and all is because there is a growing awareness that this garbage has a lot of nasty chemicals that aren’t needed.

What's in shampoo that you think is a nasty chemical? There are a lot of conditioners built into shampoo, and you need a milder kind of soap in shampoo than you can get away with with body soap. I don't believe in those $9/bottle shampoos with a microgram of eye of newt and all that other exotic-sounding stuff they put in to make it sound like it does anything more than remove the soil and oil from your hair and leave it smelling nice. I go with the generic versions of the old favorites and my hair is just as clean. Thirty-plus years of not watching TV, I have not been brainwashed by slick commercials.

Hmm...don't know. If I can find a Youtube of it, it might sound familiar. I was pretty young in the early 60’s.

If your hair feels dry and brittle, it may be that you are lacking something important in your diet. Biotin, iron, selenium, vitamin C, iodine, and copper deficiencies can contribute to dry hair. The gel you use very likely furthers the dryness. I would do a little research on dietary reasons for hair dryness and then I'd invest in a good conditioner treatment like L'Oreal Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture.

“Brylcreem, a little dab’ll do ya...”

I remember when the Beatles came and brought Beatle haircuts.
Suddenly “greasers” became uncool.

Make your own lye—slowly pass water through hardwood ashes to leach sodium and potassium. The hydroxide formed will be dilute but evaporation will thicken the mix.

Soap making requires everything be preheated just as in making a batch of bio-diesel. Slowly add the ingredients and mix thoroughly by stirring with a wood or glass utensil. Aim for a slight excess of oil to diminish any lye remaining after the reaction completes, or possibly add a little acid to neutralize any remaining lye.

Grandma’s chemistry know-how, if finely tuned, resulted in a decent cleaning product that didn’t necessarily remove the hide.

Body wash doesn’t leave soap residue so you don’t have to scrub your shower or tub nearly as often.
