[A]lmost half (48%) of all U.S. consumers believe bar soaps are covered in germs after use, a feeling that is particularly strong among consumers aged 18-24 (60%), as opposed to just 31% of older consumers aged 65+.

The war would end quickly and decisively...
Millennials are a bunch of pansy idiots.
Body wash is many times more expensive than a bar of soap and you have to re-apply it many times to get clean. I guess those kids have money to burn, or they are extremely gullible to advertising.
This kind of RESEARCH gets paid for? Who is that foolish?
IS THIS where MY tax money goes???
The Bubble-Boy Generation.
Matter of fact I think it was. The manager said it was because their chicken was finger-lickin’ good, so you didn’t need soap. I said “Well, what if you used the head? He said “Don’t piss on your hands!”
“Didnt most of {us} think bar soap gross back then?”
Took 19 posts, LOL.
Growing up in a big family and now with one of my own, I hated when the bar got small, and it would slip out of my hands, and I couldn’t pick it up until I’d slid it up the side of the tub, and then sometimes it would slide back down, or over the other side onto the floor.
Now I keep a small generic softsoap dispenser in each bathroom sink and tub, and at the kitchen sink, and every few weeks top them up with the giant refill buckets.
Hated bar soap, like the new way, can’t say it’s much more expensive than the bars, which cost at least $2 each last time I checked years ago.
Lava soap has the same affect.
Next up: free range, non-GMO body wash, $50-$75 a bottle.
They will be on that like a moth to a flame. For a generation which has no money, they sure can piss it away.
Softsoap isn’t body wash? Perhaps I’m misunderstanding the terms. I get a big generic bottle of softsoap for about $4, lasts us 2-3 months with heavy use.
And Hai Karate!
I do miss the old days of deciding how much soap to use, when I want to turn on the faucet and when I want to flush the toilet.
Very nice!
Yup! It didn’t take long for me to stop for a minute and do the math. Body wash, aerosol deodorant, it’s all rife with overpriced products that aren’t as effective.
To be fair, I do think the reaction against shampoo and all is because there is a growing awareness that this garbage has a lot of nasty chemicals that aren’t needed. However, a bar of plain old soap doesn’t need a lot of that stuff. Same said for most of the products from back in the day.
And it costs LESS!
I use Old Spice.
If your grandfather hadnt worn it, you wouldnt exist.
You’ve just described the prospective wonder of “”smart” guns.
Throw out that greasy kid stuff, try Brylcream!
