I don’t trust the swimmers, I don’t trust Rio security guards, I don’t trust MSM and I don’t trust the Brazilian Government.

Neither do I.

Not only that....I don't watch ANY sports...especially not the freakin "Allstar Wrestling" Olympics.

And why does the Brazilian Government get so upset about this? This is the biggest crime ever? What about the Olympian Official who was murdered after taking a wrong turn? This swimmer incident is small compared to other crimes in Rio? So why the outcry? Men piss outside a lot of the time (disgusting behavior) and if they pissed outside why break into the bathroom after wards?

I think you are more pissed that they get millions of dollars than anything else.

Drove from the U.S. through Mexico to Guadalajara and then headed to the western Mexico coast about twenty years ago. Went to a Class for Gringos on the U.S. side of the border before we went across. First thing instructor told us was to make sure we had at least $350 in U.S. currency in $1 and $5 denominations. Said if we were ever stopped, which he said would be a lot of times, just peel off some money and hand it to the police, turn around and walk away.

Happened five times by the time we reached Guadalajara. And that was a long time ago. Imagine it is occurring a lot more now. Not only would we never drive through Mexico again, we won’t even fly there.

The swimmer’s account is either self-serving or the truth. Iirc, the charge against the Duke lacrosse players was that they were rich and privileged, so it followed without question that they had raped the poor black stripper.

I don’t know what happened in Brazil, but I’d believe the swimmers before I’d believe people who extorted in the neighborhood of $14,000 from them for a damaged restroom I have yet to see photographed.

Actually, I don’t care. When I was young, drunk and in situations like this in a foreign country, I was on my own. I didn’t have a realm of sympathetic apologists looking out for me.

“framed metal advertisement that was loosely anchored “
Well if it was loosely anchored by all means tear it down.

“The Atheletes in our country would be victims.”

What would you do if at one morning at 6:00 a.m. a group of foreign men entered your property, began urinating and ripped down a sign or other objects that were on your property?

I stand behind the actions of the swimmers, other than Lochte tearing the sign down.

They were held at gunpoint and forced to hand over money for non-existent damages.

Agreed. As bad as it sounds, you are in constant survival mode there. My friends detailed an experience years ago driving from São Paulo to Rio. The military police pulled them over and said they were speeding. The driver pulled off a gold bracelet on his wrist and offered to to them, and in response they let them go. When they told me the story, they said if it had not been the real police, they would have just shot them and taken everything.

I'd have to say my time done there with no problems was simply luck.

Liars!

Drunken sots who have about as much business representing America in the Olympics as Hillary has of being our president!

The corrupt Brazilians have no shortage of apologists either. No doubt in Rio it costs $14,000 to repair a metal advertising frame. At least.

Lol...even with today’s smart phones, man - only a tourist has a camera down there. It would be stolen before you could blink your eyes. One of the reasons I have for not having more photos.

I’d point a gun at them and get as much cash as I could on the spot, and then hold them hostage until they forked over another $11,000.
