Time for a Ted Cruz reboot, as poll shows Republicans down on him since his snub of Trump
The Dallas Morning News ^ | August 19, 2016 | Todd J. Gillman

Ted Cruz's image among Republicans had plummeted to a personal low by the Indiana primary — the defeat that forced him from the GOP presidential contest.

But he may wish for those heady days of May now...

Potential GOP rivals are probing for weakness ahead of Cruz's bid for a second term in 2018. That includes House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul of Austin. The former federal prosecutor is the second wealthiest member of the U.S. House, with access to a family fortune topping $100 million, though he has no obvious base of support to overcome the tea partyers still plenty in thrall of Cruz.

Dryly assessing Cruz's tenure in the Senate, McCaul said Wednesday that he'd "spent a lot of time running for president..."

For 14 months, Cruz spent precious little time in Texas as he stoked the flames of his White House ambitions.

Trump has already said Turd’s opponent whomever that is, is going to get Trump funding, to beat the Weasel.

He reneged because personal ambition is more important than the country. Better in his mind we endure in his mind four years of Hillary so he can ride in on a,white horse and save us in 2020

In the tradition of bushido, seppuku or the less formal harakiri was reserved for samurai or daimyo of Japan.

In my mind, it is a ritual that is reserved for people of honor. :0)

I explained the difference in my post, rather vaguely I guess.

Harakiri is the less formal ritual of seppuku...... I guess it would be less formal in that there would not always be a second there to take the head with a sword.

To my mind, both are still reserved for those with some semblance of honor.

You’re correct. Clearly, that’s utterly unsuitable for Cruz.

How about just the plain, old American Party?

That's sounds real "nice" to me.

"Cruz is the kind of lawyer who gives lawyers a bad name."

Cruz is the kind of politician who gives politicians a bad name.

How’d that reboot work for Marco Boobio after his immigration sellout?

We have loooong memories.

Cruz hopped into the toaster and pushed the lever down himself. As far as I'm concerned, and I used to be a really big fan who donated hundreds to him, he doesn't exist anymore.

Time for all who really want this nation to take a turn for the better to open their wallets and donate to Trump and Donate to FR while they're at it.

Don’t forget he called Trump supporters low information voters. There are many on FR who support Trump and some still like Cruz but none on FR are low information!

Which only goes to show that Cruz NEVER got it.

I.e., he thought the country would still exist in 2020 if Hillary won.

He lost me when he start telling his bald-faced lies about what Donald was SAYING in his speeches.

Then he announced that Bill Clinton’s rapes, etc., were “off the table.” That’s when I thought: “He’s another Romney. His top priority is to be thought ‘a nice guy.’”
