Time for a Ted Cruz reboot, as poll shows Republicans down on him since his snub of Trump
The Dallas Morning News ^ | August 19, 2016 | Todd J. Gillman

Ted Cruz's image among Republicans had plummeted to a personal low by the Indiana primary — the defeat that forced him from the GOP presidential contest.

But he may wish for those heady days of May now...

Potential GOP rivals are probing for weakness ahead of Cruz's bid for a second term in 2018. That includes House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul of Austin. The former federal prosecutor is the second wealthiest member of the U.S. House, with access to a family fortune topping $100 million, though he has no obvious base of support to overcome the tea partyers still plenty in thrall of Cruz.

Dryly assessing Cruz's tenure in the Senate, McCaul said Wednesday that he'd "spent a lot of time running for president..."

For 14 months, Cruz spent precious little time in Texas as he stoked the flames of his White House ambitions.

Cruzifer was so indignant about Trump insulting his wife.

Funny, I remember it differently. Jeff Roe the smut peddler, paid for nudes and semi nudes of Trump’s wife from before she was Mrs. Trump, then spread them around the media and web to embarrass Trump, and get him mad enough to be un-presidential.

Meanwhile, Cruzifer must have been playing hanky panky with Carly’s dolls or he would not have forked over $500,000 to the Carly Campaign. What a true blue husband Turd Cruz is. That is why his Elmer Gantry act fell flat on its Tuchas.

Wait! Now I remember! Yeah, Fred Cruz! He was that Veep choice of that lady with a medical issue - what the heck was her name, again? Her head would wooble on top of her neck like those car bobblehead toys, it was some serious medical issue as bad as Hillary and she dropped out and that was the end of Fred Cruz.

So Fred Cruz was one of the losers to Trump, along with Fred Thompson and Gary Johnson. Right?

The only way for him to reboot is to stop the hand off of the internet and a full throated endorsement of Trump and to campaign for him.

Everyone is eager to hear that piercing nasal voice like a dentist’s drill once again. And the greasy face and hair. And the lies.

“Donald loves Obamacare. Donald told the New York Times he won’t be building a wall. Donald will appoint his pro-abortion sister to the Supreme Court.”

“Ted Cruz promised, in writing, and in public, to support the nominee of the Republican Party for President of the United States.”

Any idea what prompted him to renege? Misguided as it was, he must have had a reason to think he would come out on top by doing this.

Or maybe he was hoodwinked in order to ruin his political career? ‘Course listening to Glenn didn’t help.

Is this about the "king of voterless states"™?

And, that's all I got to say about that!

His political future at the national level?

He doesn’t have one.

When voters want a man with the character of Ted Cruz in office they vote for a democrat.

“I dont care how conservative or brilliant he is, he’s a traitor and a weasel (that’s an insult to weasels) and he’s DONE.”

If Ted’s as “brilliant” as he’s supposed to be, he wouldn’t have acted like a complete and utter idiot at the convention.

Hopefully, that’s the last we’ll ever see or hear from that walking anus.

Look....Ted Cruz has but one option...and, one option only. That is, today, yes, i mean today, he should come openly forward and declare that he is now supporting Donald J. Trump...100%. And....he should strongly urge the few followers he has left to do exactly the same. If he does not do this.....there is not one iota of a political career left for him....anywhere. What a fool this supposed smart gentleman is.

And....to boot, that second fool, John Kasich should do exactly the same thing, or, he, too, will be political toast!!! Both Kasich & Cruz had every fair opportunity to best Trump in the Republican primaries. Neither came close!!! DJT is going to be elected POTUS in a historical landslide....period, with or without these whinners and whimps!!! End of story!!!

GO.......DONALD J. TRUMP!!! Onward to great victory!!!

“Constitution party? That would be nice.”

Don’t like that one. Makes us sound like Mini-Cruzers.

I agree with you about the need for a new name, though. The last thing I want to be thought of, politically, is a “true conservative” (I have nightmares of waking up one morning, looking in the mirror, and seeing Ted looking back at me). Nor do I even want to be called a Republican anymore, given that the majority of Republicans are corrupt, useless, Democrat-in-wolf’s-clothing, Uniparty hacks.

I think what Trump’s really done is started his own party WITHIN a party - which is no doubt what has utterly pissed off the GOP-e types.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of guys.
