Two media companies have asked a judge to make public Donald Trump’s 1990 divorce records, contending they're "directly relevant" to the presidential campaign, USA Today reports. After 14 years of marriage, Ivana Trump cited "cruel and inhuman treatment" when filing for divorce. Though Donald Trump's lawyer at the time told the New York Times the cruelty stemmed from his public appearances with Marla Maples, news of a divorce deposition in which Ivana alleged she had been sexually assaulted by her husband surfaced a few years later and again bubbled up during the campaign. The New York Times Co. and Gannett Co. on Thursday asked a New York judge to unseal the records.
The media companies made the case that doing so would "resolve [that] ongoing campaign controversy" and provide info to voters about the GOP candidate's character.

Agreed. Since Donald’s 1990 divorce is now apparently appropriate to discuss, what about Hillary’s marriage-in-name only? Surely to only to reaffirm how she would put ones like June Cleaver and Margaret Anderson and Donna Stone and Samantha Stephens and Olivia Walton to shame in the faithful, sweet, and devoted wife department, eh?

The thing is that the old rules don’t work on Trump. He won’t drop out like most loser republicans. He embraces the fight, and usually wins - often even when he shouldn’t.
Frankly, I think if this information is shared with the public it will only make him stronger.

Nobody’s cheering Donald for having acted that way, but indeed comparatively speaking he’s looking like a Boy Scout (pre-gay, even) here. “Cruelty” is a common accusation in divorce cases and could mean as little as “he/she winked at someone else.” Once the rift appears, it can grow wildly.
As such affairs go, it was remarkably amicable.
