Go whole hog and legalize heroin/coke/meth/etc. The populace will be much easier to control.

FDA ruled today that marijuana has no medical benefits.

And 26 states have said otherwise.

Which do you support, the states under the Tenth Amendment, or fedgov under the Wickard Commerce Clause?

We are Libertarians! Doesn’t matter if the medical benefits are B.S.! Legalize shooting up! Doesn’t mean we will start shooting up tomorrow but if someone wants to kill themselves they are more likely to be Democrats!!

What was it like before it ever was banned at all?

If we were a bible obedient society, drugs would be a relatively little concern and God would be a huge, huge concern.

You can legal pot in your state but you can be denied employment and lose you job if you test for pot. I don’t think that will change.

The FBI used to deny employment to any applicant who admitted to prior marijuana use. Eventually, too many otherwise qualified applicants were being shown the door. The FBI re-evaluated their screening policy. When employers can't fulfill staffing needs because of off-hours marijuana use, they'll do the same.

Conservatives are and have been for a very long time--reactionary only. They drive nothing. It used to be to know the conservative agenda in 20 years, look at the left today. That time frame gets shorter and shorter.

I think it's less than 5 years now.

I support the states rights and though I don’t like our governor, he got it passed in PA.
Lot’s of people benefit from this and the fed is only interested in using the existing laws as revenue.

There was a time when it wasn’t, and sure we had addiction problems but somehow it didn’t seem to blow up into a huge crime wave in addition to it.

Today, if all the bans went away, the stock of rehab centers would skyrocket, but the prison-police complex would go begging in penury.

Have to admit, and being in Canada might make a huge difference, but at this point in my life (just turned 64), I don’t really care.
Been doing marijuana since 1970 and nobody cares.
And I’d kind of miss my “scofflaw” status.

Cheers,
Jim

Oops, I should have clarified.
Read this article today and quoted the title in my post.

That’s what you get when “conservative” means “conserving” vague principles instead of a theistic Judeo-Christian ethic. And it already had started to rot in the lead-up to Prohibition. Instead of taking God to an alcohol abuse problem, they decided to take all the alcohol away. Rubber rooms never work for society at large.

You’d just be a “scoffcustom” or something like that... where’s the thrill? That gets old.

I say you can legally partake user marijuana as long as a business owner retains the right not to hire you if you use.

“stock of rehab centers would skyrocket”

Maybe. would the taxpayers have to pay for rehab? directly? via increased insurance rates? Yeah, then I guess the stock would.

I also suppose the drugs would be of higher quality like the pot is in Colorado now.

“I say you can legally partake user marijuana as long as a business owner retains the right not to hire you if you use.”

I think that’s a big reason for self employment...works for me.

Not sure in the near term — in the longer term, churches might get involved with this as voluntary ministries.

I spent many years of my life smoking pot. Eventually, I gave it up.

It’s enjoyable to smoke pot, but it’s also enjoyable to not smoke pot.

Personally, I feel more in control of my life and my mind when I am not stoned. I can still do all of the things I loved to do while high while not high.

But above any of those things, I value the freedom to be able to make the right decision for myself, even if at first I made the wrong decision.

These are some of the things that I needed to learn during my time here, and so I learned them.

Learning is a large part of the reason the Lord has made the world dangerous.
