Duterte to Businessmen : "I Will Shoot You"
Philippine Star ^ | 8/6/2018 | Giovanni Nilles

MANILA, Philippines - President Duterte has threatened to shoot businessmen who practice “endo” or labor contractualization – though he admitted using hyperbole in his speech.

Endo is the colloquial term for end of contract.

---

“Barilin kita diyan. ‘Dalhin sa punerarya yan.’ (I can shoot you and order someone to bring you to the funeral parlor,” Duterte said. “Painitin mo ang ulo ko (Try to make me angry). I will call you here, then slap you one by one. Eh, sanay akong… talagang naninipa ako ng tao (I am used to kicking people).”

Endo are temporary work contracts, of course something widely utilized in the U.S. as well.

Ah, the third world.

Whenever I get really annoyed with U.S. politics and politicians I have only to read about the second (commies) and third worlds...and I feel better.

Caudillos used to need big mustaches to talk like this.

But looking at Putin and this guy, I guess that fashions have changed.

I don't understand the incident, then.

If a contract is done, it's done.

What's the beef ?

They would never admit it, but there are many people right here in the U.S. that would do this if they could get away with it. In fact, I am convinced that we have enough politicians who believe this that they could turn our nation into Venezuela in a decade or less. Hillary has much in common with the late Hugo Chavez.

This shows puts a realistic light on what a thug dictator this up-and-coming Phillipine politician is.

What do our fellow FReepers living in the Philippines say about what’s going on there?

Given the threats from this guy, I would guess they have too much to say about him...

We have plenty of business people here in the US that would just love to wield this kind of power over the peasants (US citizens).

We call them “free traders” and “globalists”.

The “free traders” and “globalists” make the robber barons of the 19th and early 20th centuries look positively altruistic in comparison in their quest for total subjugation of the masses.

The Egyptians, the Romans, the muslims, and even the communists weren’t this ambitious.

What's the beef ?

It appears that the temp agency is not paying the workers taxes or Social Security. Either to keep costs down or to pocket the money. The workers and the Government don't find out until the worker applies for benefits that they have been cheated. By then the temp company has changed names, gone out of business or closed for some other reason.

Perhaps the government should mail out payment statements to Filipinos of working age so the underpayments can get caught earlier.

The government could post tax payment information online.

We here in the USA get a yearly statement from Social Security.

When the worker pays their annual taxes, the company is checked to verify they paid also. Skip your taxes, the company might skip too.
