“It appears that the temp agency is not paying the workers taxes or Social Security. Either to keep costs down or to pocket the money. The workers and the Government don’t find out until the worker applies for benefits that they have been cheated. By then the temp company has changed names, gone out of business or closed for some other reason.”
Perhaps the government should mail out payment statements to Filipinos of working age so the underpayments can get caught earlier.
The government could post tax payment information online.
We here in the USA get a yearly statement from Social Security.
