Ed Rendell to Democrats: Time to Be ‘Single-Issue’ Gun Control Voters

Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell (D) tells a gathering of activists in Philadelphia it’s time for Democrats to be “single issue” voters for gun control.

The gathering was co-hosted by the PA SAFE Caucus, “Everytown for Gun Safety, American State Legislators for Gun Violence Prevention, CeaseFirePA,” and Gabby Giffords’s gun control group, Americans for Responsible Solutions.

According to Daily Local News, Rendell said, “If we’re going to make progress, the message we have to take is that we’re going to be single-issue voters. I don’t care about e-mails or anything else, (but) we need to vote for Hillary Clinton because she is someone who is going to make progress on gun control.”

Yeah, so there. Screw something that is ACTUALLY in the bill of rights and don't focus on those pesky little tiny/small print things like abortion and govt controlled health care and innumerable other things that only "progressives" can see. He ed, STFU. Maybe pro constitutionalist should be single issue voters. If you're for further infringements, you get a no vote. Lyin', cheatin', stealin', meh.

He was openly criminal before it was trendy among the DNC.

Clearly he has no future plans to run for office in PA again. Ever.

Good luck with it.

Democrats run on a loser platform like more gun control.

Worked so well for them in 2000, 2010 and 2014.

Pennsylvania has something like 1M concealed carry holders. This is a losing message for this state.

Considering that other than VA and FL, the battle will be in the Midwest, this is a great idea...for Trump.

I think this is fascinating!!! Dems will certainly vote anti-gun BUT...many are gun owners. In a sane world this doesnt compute. It only makes sense if you understand, to a dem, gun control means having guns yourself while disenfranchising anyone you deem as unfit. In their society guns play a major role for forcing their policies and dictates on the unwilling. It also means genocide when they want certain groups to disappear.

Who Democrats really want a single-issue election? Support the 2nd amendment, support the constitution, or reject it? Do they really think that a majority of American voters would vote to reject the constitution? Even if they could be convinced to undermine one amendment to the exclusion of the rest, would a majority of voters vote for someone wanting to disarm American citizens? Leave them to the mercy of terrorists, gangs, and criminals? Leave them dependent upon police that many despise? Besides, what have gun laws accomplished except to disarm minorities in urban areas? Their rates of gun crimes are incredible. Gun laws are racist, many were even implemented for that very reason. Blacks cannot own or carry guns in Chicago, New York, DC, Los Angeles. How’s that working out for them in their neighborhoods?

So, Eddie wants the freeloading, low information “democrats” to vote against the Bill of Rights? It sounds like 2016 is going to be about either Free Stuff or Freedom. Clintoon already said we can’t have both under her regime.

I don’t care about e-mails or anything else, LIKE NATIONAL SECURITY or ELECTION RIGGING (but) we need to vote for Hillary Clinton because she is someone who is going to make progress on gun control.”
And he went on to say, “Because once we take everybody’s guns away we won’t have to be so sneaky about out corruption and we can get away with anything!”
