Wasn’t Rush a Cruz guy for awhile? Anyway, interesting take. I didn’t used to think so, but Cruz is slimy IMO.
Maybe it was in part to magnanimously let Cruz blow off steam. He wanted to, so Trump granted it. Maybe it was in order to make Trump look better, not worse — to show that Trump isn’t going to bite everybody’s head off forever. If they want to wallow in their own hells of hate, it won’t be Donald’s fault.

Whether Cruz knew it or not Trump allowed this to go forward for a reason.
I didn’t know about the fly-over at the Cruz rally. Interesting little tidbit.
I always thought that. It's common for the lamestream media to say that Trump is a "self promoter", but Cruz beats out Trump in that area by far.

Trump was probably ready to come out on stage no matter how the Cruz thing turn out. Trump is a ready business guy. Either way it works out in Trumps favor.
I never heard Rush explicitly endorse any candidate. He never does in any election cycle. He just lambasts the Dems.
It is possible that when God has carried us along doing something mighty, our egos find feet and walk us into regions of hell, leaving us vulnerable to despair.
It happened even with prophets. Elijah outdid the prophets of Baal, but then when Jezebel piped up with an impotent death threat, he mistakenly concluded that he was worth nothing. Yes, Cruz was cleverly used a poster boy for what the GOPe did become. Trump wisely let Cruz have his 15 minutes...now it would be stupid of Cruz not endorse Trump even though he is stumping for the 2020 pres run — which he would not get unless by default since the lawless RATS cannot produce a candidate that does not stand for the DemocRat Mafia.
So in reality Cruz punked himself which Trump and his advisors probably just smiled at each other.
Trump didn’t “use” Cruz. He knew Cruz would be childish enough to make himself look bad. Any leader knows when to let a fool have his rope.
