Right on - exactly my thoughts. Trump is going right up the middle - in effect no different than a conservative Dem from 50-60 years ago. Say, like Kennedy: strong on defense, strong on labor, strong on 2A, ok on social issues.

But to be able to do so he has to separate himself - once and for all - from the caricature of the patrician right as exemplified by the GOPe. Since he's an expert at media, Trump knows he must have a clear visual ie a personal target, as well as a tag line. Hence Lyin' Ted, Crooked Hillary, etc.

So now Cruz is the poster boy of the petulant GOPe. Trump can/must demonstrate to Dems & independents that he's done with that (former) wing of the party. Secondly, he's going to tear into Hillary/Dems to characterize them as the other big biz, NWO party opposed to individual liberty & self determination.

We are watching a master at work. I have no doubt whatsoever that Trump suspected Cruz would do what he did, and by doing so, allowed Trump to seize the moment & control the narrative to suit his general election positioning.

Where is any evidence that Cruz would be competent? - from when he first threw his hat in the ring up to present day opportunity after opportunity came along for him to show his alleged acumen & intelligence - he would either do nothing or else do the total opposite, every time. He would botch it.

I worked and voted for him to get into the Senate expecting him to get a movement going to slow down if not stop the Regime - and TtThppff! - nothing, except a bunch of windbag speeches and press releases about what needs to be done. Cruz wasn't even a speedbump to Obama & the Gang. Trump accomplished most of what I was expecting Cruz to do. Cruz is a damned windbag - that's all he is.

Nice rant----deserved a repeat.

The buzz is Texans who contributed and worked to get him elected are really p!ssed that he did not disclose his Canadian citizenship until the media exposed him.

Another shocker---he presented himself as a scrappy little guy fighting against a high-financed opponent......then managed to get a million dollars from Goldman Sachs (supposedly "borrowed" from his margin accounts) to continue his campaign.

Clearly those bloggers do not know anything about how the Clinton administration started. The Clintons and the crew they brought to DC were amateur hour, big time. Worse than Carter’s group.

Any attempt to impeach Trump for incompetency would be purely political and a complete breakdown of our government.

Cruz’s excuses about his wife and father are baloney and/or hypocritical. A Cruz supporting pac that maligned Melania started it. How often did he malign Trump? He essentially accused Trump of everything the dems are doing...a racist hater. Sorry Cruz, live by the sword die by the sword.

I don’t buy the “entrance” theory because Trump came to hear Eric and St. Ted ran long.

“Trump Used Cruz to Pull Off Unity”

Used?

So, is Rush saying Trump wrote Cruz’s speech, forced Cruz up on stage to give that speech, and forced Cruz not to endorse Trump?

[Or did Trump simply sit back and watch his opponent self–immolate?]
