It was really a no lose if you think about it. If Cruz endorsed, DJT got the endorsement. If Cruz decided to immolate himself, get out the marshmallows.
I was confused when I heard that line about vote your conscience. Esp. since Cruz congratulated Trump on winning the nomination last night.

Rubio was scheduled to speak before Cruz. Wonder what happened.
You guys are missing it. It’s “Lying Ted”, remember? His non-endorsement should be viewed as a full endorsement.
OK. I shot myself in the foot with the way I worded my original comment.
I think when they all signed that agreement, none of them thought they would ever have to make good on it.
Now that they have, it proves that adversity reveals character. Let's just say that I am glad he stuck to his guns (the second time ) because it revealed him to the public.
I certainly hope so. The problem is Cankles has a lot of personal crap to fling, while crap has yet to stick to her.
Well, I guess William Kristol has his destructive third party candidate. I expect that the Hillary-loving media, which almost universally despised Cruz, will elevate him to god-like status for the next four months. Cruz has some crazy dream that he can run from the ashes of the party in 2020; what he doesn’t realize is that he has ticked off the base of the Party more than even Jeb Bush and he would be lucky to get Bush’s three delegates in 2020.
Well... it's not like Ted hasn't smacked her a few times. And in public, at that.
I have been a Trump supporter since his announcement.
But, I praised Cruz to his attackers here through March. I said he was better suited to the Supreme Court. I said he was a good man. My objection to him, consistently from June 2015 to March 2016, was that he couldn’t be elected.
In March, I began to step back from that position, because his actions started to worry me. But, after Indiana, it was obvious the race was over, and I kind of stopped paying attention to him.
But now? As the Scooter would say, Holy Cow! (NY trivia for my tristate friends).
This is a guy who ran for the Senate so he could run for President. Who thinks he is the only one who can do what he wants done.And what is that?
I’m not sure we really know.
I’m sorry for all the good FReepers who backed him and who are feeling the sting of losing. Your hearts are in the right place.
But I don’t think your candidate is.
My thought also. He is working for Hillary. There is nobody else. His lack of class made me think of Colin Powell’s speech at a long ago GOP convention. He actually insulted Republicans, gave reasons not to vote for GOP. And amazingly the delegates applauded. At least this time there were boos.

After tonight, TX is finished with him. I know I am. Had computer problems with the online C-Span tv right after he spoke. Had to use my iPad which only had a radio set up for the app.

Ted lived up to my expectation of him. He is as much a zealot in his own way as a radical muzzie is in theirs. He does not know moderation or compromise or statesmanship. You don’t have to be a turncoat or sacrifice your principles like Ryan or ones of his ilk but you do have to exercise some good sense. Being brilliant, and Cruz is probably brilliant, isn’t enough.
Kinda hate all the snake comparisons, though.
