BALTIMORE (AP) — The Latest on a barricade situation in Baltimore (all times local):
2 p.m.
Baltimore Police say a 7-year-old is among those being held hostage at a Burger King restaurant.
Police spokesman T.J. Smith said in a news conference Sunday that “about four” people are in the restaurant with an armed suspect who fled from police.
Smith said the suspect is wanted on a rape charge and led police on a vehicle chase earlier Sunday before crashing into another vehicle and then fleeing by foot into the Burger King in Southwest Baltimore. Smith said the driver of the other car is being treated for minor injuries.
SWAT team and negotiators are at the scene and police are asking the public to avoid the area.

About three years ago we went to visit McHenry and passed over a hole in a bridge through which I swear I could see the ground It's the same thing with DC. I commute every day from Alexandria, VA to Laurel/Savage, MD. In the mornings we take 295 through DC into Maryland to the 495 beltway. You can always gauge when you're leaving DC by the quality of the roads. The moment it goes from miserable pot holes that rattle your teeth to smooth pavement, you know you've left DC and have entered MD (yes, MD state roads are still good - hey, they've got a Republican governor now!).

Lawd have mercy! Doesn't this prove it's time to do away with all gender references in our society? How is a little child supposed to make a decision about whether they want to be one sex or another if we continue to perpetuate such stereotypes!??
We must celebrate diversity! Maybe that rapist sexually confused lawbreaker is just trying to figure out who they're supposed to be?

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake order the police to give the suspect some space to destroy. Marilyn Mosby is already drawing up indictments of the police officers involved.If I were a Baltimore cop I would be looking to issue some traffic tickets in another part of town.
