Sen. Ted Cruz is stepping back into the national spotlight at the Republican National Convention, where his rival, Donald Trump, will be crowned the presidential nominee.

Cruz’s speech will be a pivotal moment for the Republican Party in 2016 — and possibly beyond.

Republicans will also be watching to see if Cruz has some nice things to say about Trump, who invited the Texan to a speaking role in a gesture of party unity.

It’s great that Ted Cruz will be speaking. Cruz is a great conservative. It’s a given that he will support Trump...

One more note....why does? an American reporter use a word like crowned. It didn't use to be that way.

I’ll skip the convention again, for the 3rd time. Tired of the RINO parade.

So who were you rooting for? Kasich, Bush, or Rubio? Let me guess, Cruz? Cruz started out saying the right stuff, but he messed up and he proved himself to be far less than most of could have ever imagined to begin with. If Trump is so much like Romney, how come Romney has been fighting so hard to sabotage his candidacy? Wake up!!! This is something completely different than we have seen in the previous conventions. We have finally got someone who is willing to stand up to the Democrats and is causing a lot of others to do the same.

Not only Cruz, but all of the speakers during the RNC need to pound these things home: Donald Trump is one of the most successful businessmen in US history, running for President at a time when US business is at one of its lowest ebbs. You say Donald Trump doesn’t have “government experience?” For 40-plus years Donald Trump has had to follow every local, state and federal law, edict or whim to get his buildings built. You think that’s not “government experience”?

He has a loose tongue and tends to say what he thinks. You think that’s a bad thing? Free speech is the ESSENCE of America, people have just forgotten that as the PC virus has invaded every single area of our lives.

There is only one man who will set America free again, so we can build futures unencumbered by this horrendous, overbearing, fascist government the liberals have created. A government run by men and women with a desire not to help, but to control, and many of whom couldn’t get a job anywhere else.

Donald Trump is our very last chance to control our own lives. He doesn’t need the money, he doesn’t need the power, he is doing all this as a love of country.

And I’m guessing he won’t even take a salary for doing it.

“Looks more like a hankering for a GOP of yesteryear that doesn’t exist any more.”

GOP needs to expunge the Mitts, McCains, Ryans and all others who believe that “reaching across the aisle” and “getting things done” are their main governing goals.

Then the GOP needs to go back to Reagan:

Against all advice and a a cringing State Dept., He named Global communism/Soviet Union as “the evil empire”.

Then he fought them unabashedly.

Same needs to be done today with Islam.

Then He cut tax RATES.

Same needs to be done today.

Then He built up our defenses.

Same needs to be done today, including a defensive wall on the southern border and surveillance of any and all mosques and strict controls on immigrants using visas.

It’s all mapped out for the new GOP, Just needs to be implemented.

It IS all Mitts, McCains, and Ryans. Why would those people come to the top if they were the exceptions?

From a Sean Hannity website: The RNC has unveiled its partial list of speakers for the Republican National Convention. The four day event will include a selection of politicians, business moguls, entertainers, and American heroes. Here's the lineup according to the New York Times: Night 1: A Benghazi focus, followed by border patrol agents and Mr. Shaw, whose son was killed by an undocumented immigrant. Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, former New York City Rudy Giuliani, Melania Trump, Iowa Senator Joni Ernst. Night 2: UFC President Dana White, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, Michael Mukasey, the former United States attorney general, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Senate majority leader, Tiffany Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin. Night 3: Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, retired NASA astronaut Eileen Collins, Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas; Eric Trump; Natalie Gulbis; and the nominee for vice president. Night 4: Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow; Representative Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, Gov. Mary Fallin of Oklahoma, Reince Priebus, the Republican National Committee chairman, Gov. Rick Scott of Florida; PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, Investor Tom Barrack, Ivanka Trump, Donald J. Trump. In addition to those on the above schedule, the list includes actor Antonio Sabato, Jr.
, Jerry Falwell Jr.
, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, Congressman Michael McCaul, Senator Jeff Sessions, Benghazi heroes John "Tig" Tiegen and Mark "Oz" Geist, Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, Congressman Ryan Zinke, Congressman Sean Duffy, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, Congressman Kevin McCarthy, Harold Hamm, casino magnate Phil Ruffin and Dr. Ben Carson. Two names have been noted for their absence on the list: former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and Indiana Governor Mike Pence. Palin of course has been a vocal supporter of Trump since early in the campaign and Pence is in contention to be Trump's Vice Presidential nominee. No word on WHY their names are absent or whether or not they'll be added in the coming days.

“It IS all Mitts, McCains, and Ryans. Why would those people come to the top if they were the exceptions?”

Mitt & McCain are NOT on the top. Mitt holds no office and thankfully won’t be at the convention. And McCain might lose his senate seat.

Ryan needs to be defeated in his upcoming primary.

They’ll all need to be replaced.

It's past time for the disastrous Trump-Cruz war to be generally recognized as OVER.

I wish it had never started.

Why are they garnering the influence and attention they are?

Be careful of looking like the Monty Python “it’s only a flesh wound.”
