I will dig it out, and post it next week. The Lodge speech was in the course of the debate over the League of Nations. While Lodge never joined the irreconcilables in outright opposition to the League, he did allow them to keep the debate going until they won America to their position.
But the speech in its own right, addressed an unfortunate mindset, which has become sadly common place, in recent decades, among Corporate top brass.

Because when the federal government targets something for punishment, it always ends up punishing something else. That’s just the way it is.

Terrorism at it’s best! Forcing people to react to possible violence whether it is threatened or not. And you don’t see this happening to Hilary, do you?

Tariffs will cause inflation and decrease the profit margins for the importer. Domestic producer will see their profit margins increase. Domestic production will be on the ascent and foreign production will be on the descent. As it should be. It will take time to defeat this evil globalism. It wont be a quick fix. But the alternative is economic death and socialism/Communism.
How do I know you not a Marxist? You and him agree on a lot of things.

Don’t know. I just am angry at the obvious bias. There ought to be a price to pay for bigotry.

Incidentally, when you mention Marx, it's a signal that you've strayed away from your limited grasp of economics.
And here I sit, 20 minutes by car (the one Trump complains about) from Wayne Assembly (the plant Trump complains about), enjoying a rare weekend off from my manufacturing job (that Trump does not care about). Nor you.

.........just did. Though I’ve been singing the praises of Ford for not borrowing from taxpayers to save itself, it’s cowardice and political manipulation and meddling like this from corporations that pisses me off. The F150 I was about to buy will now be a Tundra. Hopefully a few hundred thousand more will get cancelled.

Yes, I believe that it is. Certainly the third paragraph is precisely one that I remember. My specific reference, before was to this:
Internationalism, illustrated by the Bolshevik and by the men to whom all countries are alike, provided they can make money out of them, is to me repulsive. National I must remain and in that way I, like all other Americans, can render the amplest service to the world.
