I still think Alan West would be a fine choice.

she's a woman
(1) What good does that do if she's not a liberal? The media will do a rectal exam on Joni Ernst and it will be Sarah Palin all over again. (2) Choosing a woman who has only so-so experience, largely because she is a woman, is beneath Trump. It spoils his message about doing things differently this time.

I’m going around and around with this. I think Newt is the safest choice and the best when it comes articulating basic core principles and the history of our country. If not VP then someone we hear from a lot.
Newt has worked hard, and certainly earns it. If you recall Paul Ryan was a hard critic of him, as he is of Trump.
Christie would be fine, Pence yeah. I like Newt or someone off the wall like LePage.

Ask any female supporter of Madam Benghazi why she's voting for her and she won't be able to name a single accomplishment, so they'll fall back on the old reliable - "she's a woman". I agree, Joni Ernst would be subjected to a "rectal exam" - that's why Condaleeza Rice would've been an excellent choice, because even the media wouldn't stoop that low with a black woman, but she's too tied to the Bushes.

As much as I wish it was going to be Newt in my heart I think its going to be Pence.

Trump should announce his VP pick before the convention. The Never Trumpers will have a much harder time being obstructionist when they have to fight a twofer, Trump with a declared VP as opposed to just Trump alone. Throw another obstacle in front of the Never Trumpers.

Someone I’ve posted about lately that I would love Mr. Trump to consider is Representative Jim Jordan. He’s a fiscal conservative, from OH, went to school there and in WI (NCAA wrestling champ), proposed a balanced budget, against illegal immigration, for healthcare reform, IIRC his name was being tossed around as a replacement for Boehner, articulate, nice-looking, young.
Here’s his statement from today:
Despite statements 2 contrary, Clinton sent/received Top Secret info through her unclassified email server - yet FBI sees no case. Travesty.
Here’s his website, you need to scroll down to see his statements on various issues:

What you said. I agree with everything you said. Newt would do dreadful harm.
To: ConservativeDude
I do wonder if Ernst would accept the choice though.
To: monkapotamus
I could go with Pence
I could go with Newt. Newt is the smartest and most forward looking of any in Washington. He would make a very good advisor to act in a non official capacity. Having him close by would be suitable

There is no way anyone could possibly compare Ernst to Palin. No way no how.
To: Jack Hammer
Chris Christie? Seriously???
About all he has going for him is loyalty.
To: Crucial
YES!!
The other choices are uninspiring. Ernst is not an inspiring speaker or personality. Yes, the castration ad was funny and “cutting edge” - but I don’t think she’s presidential material.
It’s got to be Alan West. But Trump isn’t interviewing him?

Biden was experienced, did he subsantvively help Obama? I’d say no.
I say Ernst for VEEP, Sessions for Sec. of Defense, Christie for AG, and Newt for Chief of Staff.
