If U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has his way the United Nations will be able to say if Americans are allowed to have their Second Amendment rights. He signed an anti-gun treaty with the United Nations that the U.S. Senate has already said it is against.
The treaty Kerry signed without authorization from the Senate would create an un-Constitutional registry of all US gun buyers and would lead to the UN controlling American's gun rights.
Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday signed a controversial U.N. treaty on arms regulation, riling U.S. lawmakers who vow the Senate will not ratify the agreement.
As he signed the document, Kerry called the treaty a "significant step" in addressing illegal gun sales, while claiming it would also protect gun rights.
"This is about keeping weapons out of the hands of terrorists and rogue actors. This is about reducing the risk of international transfers of conventional arms that will be used to carry out the world's worst crimes. This is about keeping Americans safe and keeping America strong," he said. "This treaty will not diminish anyone's freedom. In fact, the treaty recognizes the freedom of both individuals and states to obtain, possess, and use arms for legitimate purposes." when guns are outlawed2 U.S. lawmakers, though, have long claimed the treaty could lead to new gun control measures. They note the U.S. Senate has final say on whether to approve the agreement.
Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., in a letter to President Obama, urged his administration not to take any action to implement the treaty without the consent of the Senate.
He claimed the treaty raises fundamental issues concerning "individual rights protected by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution."
The National Rifle Association blasted the plan, claiming it would impose an "invasive registration scheme" by requiring importing countries to give exporting countries information on "end users."
"The Obama administration is once again demonstrating its contempt for our fundamental, individual Right to Keep and Bear Arms," Chris Cox, executive director of the NRA's Institute for Legislative Action, said in a statement. "These are blatant attacks on the constitutional rights and liberties of every law-abiding American. The NRA will continue to fight this assault on our fundamental freedom."
Once again Obama's regime tries to end the Second Amendment by stealth.

My pleasure, Windflier.
4.2 Billion children killed by their moms in just 35-1/2 years. More than 1.25 children per second. More than all the world’s wars and health epidemics throughout all of our thousands and thousands of years of history combined, just since 1980. Yeah, they’re still killin’ ‘em alright - the walking dead are.
Sorry...1.42 billion. But who is counting, right.

“But there is Zero, Zip, Nada legal ability of a president to implement a treaty unless the Senate approves it. There is absolutely no constitutional mechanism that it is legal until the Senate rejects it. The precise opposite is true. It is not binding on the US people until the Senate approves it”
LOL! technically correct however we have moved on from that.
See post 137. If you think it takes Senate Ratification for this to become law, your in for a surprise. Remember clinton butt boy Paul Bergala’s observation on clintons use of Executive Orders? “STROKE OF THE PEN, LAW OF THE LAND”. and obama “I have a pen...”
Lets see them try to enforce it, I’ll wait with my arsenal. Give me liberty or give me death Don’t tread on Me.
I’d love to see that. And the aftermath.
Rope is useful for treason.
OK, Thank you, being 74 gives me brain farts, am one of the first 500 members of this great site.
Will...
NOT...
COMPLY.
Molon Labe.
He can’t, and the senate has to ratify it.
Then again, the constitution doesn’t matter to these people. Anybody still think zer0 is going to leave office?
My last active duty assignment was at Ft Devens, MA in 74-75 after Korea. I was back in SF with the 10th Group having two BN’s there and one still in Bad Tolz, Germany at Flint Kaserne. Outside the front gate of Devens was Ayers,MA and towards 4 corners was Lost Lake/Knopps Pond where the wife and I owned a camp/house on the Lost Lake side. Kerry was a real SOB who also owned nearby property. Kerry was not well liked by the locals as I recall. I can state any man who would concoct a PH for enemy action on or near Cam Ranh Bay is full of it. That place was totally peaceful with guys water skiing and drinking beer. Kerry is no friend to the SF types who were in the IV Corps Mike Force. Any man who fabricates more BS is pure BS.
I am confused about something; I was under the impression that only the president could sign treaties.
The Senate must ratify a treaty before a president can sign it.
and use arms for legitimate purposes.”
What do you have against mules?
Some lawyers and politicians have argued that signed treaties should be treated as in effect until their ratification is voted down and then not present them to the Senate.
The Presidents’ signature on a treaty just means it is accepted as a proposal to be considered, and is no longer a work-in-progress draft. Nothing at all more.
