Zakaria: Journalists Are ‘Better Educated’, ‘More Comfortable With Diversity’ Than Ordinary People
Breitbart ^ | June 27, 2016 | by BREITBART LONDON

From Mediaite: CNN’s Fareed Zakaria spoke with Brian Stelter on Reliable Sources today about whether the media being too “elite” was a problem in how it missed the Brexit outcome so badly.

Zakaria acknowledged that journalists tend to be “better-educated,’ “comfortable with diversity,” more liberal, and “probably less sensitive to the concerns” of average Britons who supported the Brexit.

However, he said, the pro-Brexit campaign was “entirely using emotion, conjuring horror stories” about immigrants and the like, aided on by the British tabloids––which Zakaria referred to as “basically their Fox News.”

Zakaria argued that “the media does have a bias in favor of facts” when it calls out the Leave campaign for going on emotion while the Remain campaign was bringing up facts and figures about the cost and consequences of leaving the EU.

Two distinct groups of people score the worst on any test: Journalists and PhD in Education.

Zakaria acknowledged that journalists tend to be “better-educated,’ “comfortable with diversity,

Where did they get this from? Survey of employees at MSNbc or NPR? If so they're pretty accurate there but I consider myself a journalist and am more uncomfortable with diversity than a minuteman at Taco bell.

No one asked me...

I bet most MSM journalists live in the posh suburbs or gated communities. You think Zakaria lives in the ‘hood? In a working class community? No Way.

In other words, they are badly disconnected from the average American.

Journalism isn’t a bad major to study. It’s better than studying Gender Studies. Journalists should be holding politicians accountable, but that is not the case anymore.

Journalists are also more comfortable with radicalized Islamic jihadists detonating themselves in malls, schools, and sports stadiums. That behavior is "totally cool" in their book.

Recently saw a copy of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazelle for the first time in a long while. There was a full page piece congratulating their 2016 interns.

There were a couple of obligatory kids from local schools (Point Park, Robert Morris). There was the obligatory black candidate from Mississippi State. 80% of the others were from either Yale or Harvard.

THERE’S your problem right there.

And you wonder why Americans intensely dislike journalists nowadays.

What this country needs are some “ordinary people” PRIDE parades. I’m proud to be an “ordinary people” with a real job instead of an educated “gas passing” bobblehead in the so called “media”.

Journalists are more adept at and more comfortable being useless consumers of resources who have nothing to contribute to a productive society. Intellectual, lazy, imprecise and lying leeches.

I dispute the better educated part. Most modern journalists have been brain washed. They couldn’t work a simple logic problem if their life depended on it

I always remember a quote at the start of Bernard Goldberg’s book “Bias” from someone who said that when it came to both arrogance and refusal to have any personal accountability, journalists were about the only ones on the planet who would make lawyers look good.
