Republican ex-Treasury chief Paulson slams Trump, to vote for Clinton

Henry Paulson, a Republican who was U.S. Treasury secretary during the 2008 financial meltdown, on Friday called a Donald Trump presidency “unthinkable” and said he will vote for Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Paulson joins a growing list of establishment Republicans who say they will not cast a ballot in the Nov. 8 election for Trump, the party’s presumptive nominee and a political neophyte whose populist rhetoric runs counter to many long-held Republican principles. […]

“I’ll be voting for Hillary Clinton, with the hope that she can bring Americans together to do the things necessary to strengthen our economy, our environment and our place in the world,” he said.

Paulson accused Trump, who has touted his business acumen as a real estate developer during his campaign, of taking “imprudent risk” and then disavowing his debts when ventures fail. …

Tell me if I am wrong. As I understand it, Trump bankruptcy happened during BJ and Monica’s tenure. The Rats in gummint changed the laws regarding a business’ ability to depreciate property. Many contracts, especially in commercial real estate went negative suddenly and so became insolvent because prior depreciation was “baked in”. So Trump’s failures, seen correctly, is yet another example of libtard gummint run amok. My sense is that Trump correctly realizes that the LIV can’t grasp this and so never makes the point. To his credit he doesn’t waste time trying.

honestly, that wouldn’t surprise me.

i can see those morons in the GOPe thinking that a steady drip of negative “leaks” to the WaPo and NYT might compel convention delegates to choose some white knight who rides in at the last minute, instead of Trump.

it’s delusional, but i can completely see them fooling themselves into thinking it could happen.

i wasn’t a Trump supporter during the primaries, but his stock is going up in my eyes based solely on the people he is angering and the people coming out against him. he seems to have made all of the right enemies.

Paulson helped engineer the financial meltdown to ensure ObaMao’s election. It is no surprise that he shows his true colors here.

We, the conservative voters, have long suspected that the GOP “leadership” is not only not “with us”, but they are actively against us in many instances.

We now have confirmation, in oh so many ways.

the real battle between the elites and the rest of us won’t be fought at the ballot box.

you can’t vote away the self-appointed ruling elite (SARE) anymore than you can vote away cancer. you have to excise it with a scalpel or chemo. something similar is needed for the SARE.

No, it will not matter if you vote pubican ever again if we lose.

Voting will be pointless, you will be overwhelmed by illegals who are given the vote within just a few years.

You will be a minority and only of significance so long as you have money in your pockets because we will inded be a banana republic. Even the head banana still thrives in that case but the rest just wither away.

Sounds like a Trump endorsement to me.

Paulson, like the other GOP establishment traitors, is not and never was a republican. Lower case deliberately. We have a republican form of government. The GOP elite have never believed in a/the republic. They are, like their pseudo enemies the libs, oligarchs. Now they are making no effort to hide that fact.

Goldman-Sucks are the Romulans of the world to me. Lizard people who lurk in the underworld of finance. They are all clones who sell their souls for silver and are without principle or morals. All of them. You can't be one of them without surrendering your soul to mammon. This pretty well covers it: Mammon /ˈmæmən/ in the New Testament of the Bible means money or material wealth and is associated with the greedy pursuit of gain. In the Middle Ages it was often personified as a deity and sometimes included in the seven princes of Hell.

Taking names of all those willing to vote for a woman who broke the law, put national security at risk, lied to Congress and left men to die in Benghazi.

Shrillary...

God bless the FReeper who came up with that nickname for Bubba's better/worse half.

What are you going to do with that "list" of yours? Burn it with a cantation or something?
Be sure to do it under a full moon, sipping some nice strong iced tea, with a few friends, listening to one of your favorite songs.

FReegards.

The guy who literally got down on his knees and begged Nancy Pelosi?

Hank, how many people went to prison or faced any punishment at all for fleecing hundreds of billions of dollars from investors and the US taxpayers during the financial crisis?

Realize that trump is also 70. I’m certain you don’t want him to retire based on his birthday.

Lol. Yes, I forgot. Thanks for the reminder.
WHY is he such a younger 70 years old than others of the same age?

Paulson was the guy who used the financial crisis in 2008 to try and ram an economic dictatorship down our throats.

He didn’t get away with that one, but he did get away with $800 billion of our money for his bankster friends via TARP.
