While any such referendums on the EU or the Euro would be merely test public opinion because Italian law does not allow referendums to change international treaties, a victory would send a clear signal to the government, especially in the wake of Brexit.

Just like we should have had impeachment of barkie, whether it passed or not.

Just go to the fallback position of the common market, with each country keeping its own currency, Europeans.

Well, Germany got control of the ECB, so Germany will end up taking in the shorts again, in a new century/millennium.

Angie sure poured gas on the fire with her open door policy for the Johnny Jihads.

You would think that the German people would get a clue about who’s paying the bills. With the UK out and a real chance there will be more to follow they would want to jump to the front of the line.

The writing is on the wall.

Nationalism is a powerful thing and no European country is better at it than Germany.

Time to fire up those Heidelberg Printing presses.

Janet Yellin and the fed have destroyed our nation with their little experiment. in helping the banks, they have destroyed savers and earners and allowed this govt to run amuck with their cheap money that only benefits the very rich.

An old joke from the dawn of the EU. But, since it now appears that Germany will soon be the last member of the EU to hold a referendum to leave........

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as “Euro-English”.

In the first year, “s” will replace the soft “c”. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard “c” will be dropped in favour of “k”. This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome “ph” will be replaced with “f”. This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent “e” in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing “th” with “z” and “w” with “v”.

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary “o” kan be dropd from vords kontaining “ou” and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensi bl riten styl.

Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi TU understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.

Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

Look at it as an opportunity for bargain hunting - you don’t even need to look hard.

Last one out gets stuck with the socialism failure bill

Portugal and Greece (and some others) would like all E U members to hang in there and underwrite their debt.

The original Common Market made sense (still does) but it was hijacked by all the world socialist gasbags who can’t accept any limits on their powers or ideology. There is no inherent reason for all the open-borders, one currency, vast bureaucracies, and much other b.s., it’s just that ideologues could not limit themselves to something as modest as the Common Market.

“In France, National Front party leader Marine Le Pen promised voters their own referendum as she declared her support for Brexit.

She said: “I would have voted for Brexit. France has a thousand more reasons to leave than the UK because we have the euro and Schengen.”

That is right.
