Thedford, an unemployed former high school teacher, dropped off his 3-year-old and 5-year-old children at daycare around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, but when he returned to his home in Melissa, Thedford forgot about his 6-month-old daughter, according to a warrant viewed by KHOU. He went inside the house to take a four-hour nap before waking up and realizing the baby girl remained in the hot minivan.
When he found the girl she was unresponsive, according to the warrant, so Thedford brought her inside the house and put her in a refrigerator for "an undetermined length of time." He then called his wife, who was at work, and 911 while trying unsuccessfully to perform CPR.

Likely right, on all counts.
Yes....having daycare....so you can take a four hour nap. Sick!!
Why is he wrapped up in a blanket?
Maybe it is a custody agreement with an ex. I can only speculate.
Another reason to home school?
Horrible tragedy. I can’t even imagine the pain and torment the family is going through right now.
My daughter is a teacher. She graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Busted her tail to earn her degree, and has worked just as hard during her brief tenure as a teacher since.
Whenever she goes on a job interview it is overrun with literally hundreds of candidates like this guy. Often as not the job goes to someone who is a relative of one of the school board members.
The point is, good and dedicated teachers should not be in direct competition with political hacks and hopeless schmucks.
That’s a high skool teacher? Wow, we really are in trouble.
I think events confirm any suspicions.
The point is, there is no mention of pot being involved here.
The Court should order, that he be left, inside, a locked, widows up, Texas Car, in the Hot Texas Sun, for 4 Hours.
pretty hard for a school teacher to become “unemployed”
guy must be a real beaut...
A lot of police departments do mugshots like that now - draping a towel to conceal the shoulders and chest. I suspect it's to clean up the "photo lineup" results in the future - nobody will be subconsciously focusing on clothing.
People are associating this with the story last summer (or the summer before) of a fat gay guy with adopted children who left one of them in the car to die while he was either smoking dope or buying dope.
Maybe a good person here will run a pix of that creep. I wonder if he’s out on parole?
Actually, if he had put the baby in the fridge while dialing 9/11 (and not closed the door) that might not have been a bad idea...when you come in with heat stroke, you are likely going to be surrounded with ice packs and have chilled saline run into your body.
But it doesn’t sound like that is what this person did. For all we know, he might have put the child in there for an hour.
Point is, chilling is a good thing in this case, but only if you are not delaying medical care.
Who cares if someone else is paying for it?
A person like this teaching? Not only does someone this lazy and stupid qualify for natural selection elimination he added insult injury by procreating three times. What a shame. I hope is wife is smarter than he is.
We raised our children like precious packages. Can’t imagine forgetting on left in a car seat. Of course most of them were raising hell full time when they were strapped in.
“Also, why pay for day care if he’s unemployed?”
I am guessing we paid for it ....
He would have been fine if he would have stuffed the child back into the mothers womb.
I’ll bet it is paid with some unemployment “benefit” with the assumption you are beating the streets for a job.
I can agree/disagree with that concept, but not for getting it while you take naps for four hours in the middle of the day.
And that is the problem with so many of those “benefits”. They are abused by people.
