IIRC and I grew up in Chicago in the 60's the predecessors of the El Rukins were:
Blackstone Rangers
Which became the Black P Stone Nation
Which morphed into the El Rukins.
All these gangs were headed by a very unpleasant fellow named Jeff Fort who I believe will only get out of prison when he meets Jesus.
There were never Mexicans involved in the creation of any of those gangs.
