Paul Ryan's Treason
Frontpagemag.com ^ | June 21, 2016 | Daniel Greenfield

In an awkward interview with the Huffington Post, House Speaker Paul Ryan threatened to sue Donald Trump if he were to ban Muslim immigration or build a border wall with Mexico. Considering the current track record of suing Obama over abuses of power, this is little more than a confession of impotence. And yet it’s deeply troubling that a top Republican is willing to go to such lengths to fight for Muslim migration or for that matter illegal immigration in general.

That’s why so many news outlets ran with the headline that Cruz blames Trump for the attack.

So many did, but I did notice they were all crank or in-the-tank sites for Trump. The plain vanilla ones didn't. Cruz certainly was making the statement when all the newsies would be looking for comments, but using it as a dramatic illustration of the importance of standing with our allies was reasonable, I thought--if you believe he has the right to have run for President.

I'm not sure I agree with Cruz on this one, because I'm not sure Brussels is an ally.

“What in heck happened to this person??!!”

Article yesterday that the CEO of Apple is going to have a fundraiser for Ryan. No fund raiser for the GOP however. Tells me right there that Ryan is a lacky for the cheap labor express.

I don't think that is it.

I think it is more a case of--"Look, this is the direction the world is going. The train is leaving and you can try to fight it but you will lose. We got a nice comfy seat ON the train for you and all your family, probably for generations. No favela living will be in you and yours future. The American people? Well, they won't be so lucky. So, what's it gonna be, son, you getting on, or ya gonna stay and fight?"

‘the problem Ryan faced is have HuffPost do a hit piece on him, by declining or do the interview...’

For all we know Ryan approached HuffPo. He’s going all out in his slithery, slimey attempt to undermine Trump. The OP nailed it: Ryan is a traitor.

‘It’s not the venue. It’s the content of the message.’

The venue compounds the traitorous nature of the content.

‘Paul Ryan considers Donald Trump’s proposal to indefinitely ban Muslim immigration into the US to be executive overreach.’

This is totally within the president’s power. Ryan is simply campaigning for Mrs. Clinton.

If he wins his primary I hope the democrat beats him in the general. We’ll lose a seat but at least we’ll have a chance at getting a decent Speaker.

Paul Ryan considers Donald Trump’s proposal to indefinitely ban Muslim immigration into the US to be executive overreach.

Then Paul Ryan is on the side of barbarism.

As are any/all in agreement with him.

Deporting Ryan across rebel lines probably is not an option.

However, remember that after the war, Vallandigham went back to being a defense attorney, and during a murder trial, was demonstrating that the victim could have shot himself, when the gun snagged in his clothing, and shot himself...

Perhaps Karma will deal with Ryan and Cruz the same way.

Oh, please tell me what I left out that is SO nefarious?

Was it the first 2 sentences?

In reading the actual report, it is hardly nefarious or frightening. Cruz offered the following commentary, emphasizing the role of the free market:

I support the Task Force report and its recommendations aimed at building a safer and more prosperous North America. Economic prosperity and a world safe from terrorism and other security threats are no doubt inextricably linked. While governments play an invaluable role in both regards, we must emphasize the imperative that economic investment be led and perpetuated by the private sector. There is no force proven like the market for aligning incentives, sourcing capital, and producing results like financial markets and profit-making businesses. This is simply necessary to sustain a higher living standard for the poorest among us—truly the measure of our success. As such, investment funds and financing mechanisms should be deemed attractive instruments by those committing the capital and should only be developed in conjunction with market participants.

Not quite a call for a New World Order, is it?

Heidi Cruz is NOT a puppet of the CFR!

“I respect Richard Haass (President of the Council on Foreign Relations), who’s on your show a lot. And I like him a lot. I have a few people that I really like and respect.”-Donald J. Trump on MSNBC

I posted the above quote to highlight how hypocritical it is for Trump supporters to attack Heidi Cruz.

Yes, Heidi Cruz was once a member of the CFR, a major foreign policy think tank. She was, and is no longer. As Ted Cruz explained in an interview, Heidi was a term member and one of the few conservatives there.

Here is the definition of a term member, according to the CFR:

The Stephen M. Kellen Term Member Program encourages promising young leaders in government, media, nongovernmental organizations, law, business, finance, and academia to engage in a sustained conversation on international affairs and U.S. foreign policy. The program allows these younger members to interact with seasoned foreign-policy experts and participate in a wide variety of events designed especially for them. Each year a new class of term members, between the ages of 30 and 36, is elected to a five-year membership term.

There is nothing wrong with joining an organization for the purpose of advancing your career and trying to bring about positive change in the process-that is why people such as Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Ben Sasse, and others ran for the U.S. Senate.

There are a lot of bad people at the CFR, but if we condemn good people for being successful, then we are admitting defeat from the onset.

Heidi Cruz is NOT a corrupt shill for Goldman Sachs!

Before we dive into this, we need to step back and look at the expertise of Heidi Cruz. She has a undergraduate degree in economics, a masters of European Business degree, and an M.B.A from Harvard. In short, she is really bright when it comes to numbers and money.

Where is someone with such skills and education likely to work? A bank of course. And Cruz has worked for three: JP Morgan Chase, Merrill Lynch, and Goldman Sachs.

Without getting too much into detail, yes you can certainly make the case that Goldman Sachs is too closely connected with the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve. Crony capitalism is always bad, and it should be condemned as such.

But the fact that Cruz works for Goldman Sachs (along with about 37,000 other people) does not make her corrupt. Contrary to many conspiracy articles, she is not the VP of the bank. After working for the bank for seven years, she was promoted to be the regional head of the Southwest United States for the Investment Management Division.

Heidi Cruz is not on the board of directors, she is not an executive officer, and she is not a member of the management committee. In other words, she is in no position to be making shady deals behind closed doors.

That said, Trump is actually a major shareholder of Goldman Sachs, so why does he get a pass?

If there is nothing wrong with Heidi endorsing the entire CFR paper, why did you omit those lines?
