A new Morning Consult poll shows national security is back at the forefront of voters’ minds following the mass shooting in Orlando that left dozens dead and injured.
In a national survey taken in the days after Omar Mateen’s attack on Pulse, a gay nightclub, almost three out of 10 voters (29 percent) said security was their top issue under consideration when casting their vote — a 10-point increase from a poll in early June. Similar spikes in voters’ concerns about national security were observed following the attacks in Paris, San Bernardino and Brussels.
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has said that whenever tragedy strikes, his poll numbers “go way up.” That trend bears out following the Orlando massacre, although his 3-point jump is modest at best.
In a head-to-head matchup with presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, Trump is gaining ground. He still trails Clinton 42 percent to 40 percent, which is within the margin of error for the poll. He has closed the gap by 3 percentage points from Morning Consult’s previous poll, when he trailed Clinton by 5 points, 42 percent to 37 percent. Seventeen percent of voters in the most recent poll remain undecided.
In a three-way field that includes libertarian nominee Gary Johnson, Trump and Clinton are tied at 38 percent each. Johnson pulls in 10 percent of the vote, and 14 percent of voters are undecided.

I am having a hard time visualizing a scenario which will cause Rats to be energized enough to get off their azz to go out and vote for crooked Hillary.
Turnout based on energy will decide this election.
If a person experienced discrimination based on anything which was beyond their control, such as gender, race, national origin, that person will not forget it for 50 years. Gov Haley of SC was denied participation in a beauty contest based on race. I will bet any money she will have a knee jerk response to anything which smells discrimination, until she is 60+ years old.

No, just the opposite. If you read the article you'll see that in a head-to-head contest, Hillary leads Trump 42% to 40% with 17% undecided. When Gary Johnson is included, Hillary and Trump are tied at 38%, with Johnson at 10% and 14% undecided. So Johnson is taking 4% from Hillary and 2% from Trump. And since Johnson will be on the ballot in all 50 states, it really is a 3-way race. Hence this poll really shows Hillary and Trump tied, not Hillary with a 2-point lead.
This is consistent with all the other recent polls, which show that Johnson is pulling slightly more votes from Hillary than from Trump. So if Johnson really does tip the election, the evidence to date suggests that he'll tip it in Trump's favor. That may seem counter-intuitive, given that Gary Johnson and his running mate William Weld are both ex-Republican governors, but facts "trump" intuition.
Trump supporters should be grateful that Johnson is in the race and doing so well, and they should hope that his numbers keep growing at Hillary's expense.

This is what I've been saying this whole primary season. Hillary's voters are just not energized. You saw that in the primaries.
Of course, there's always the traditional Democrat voter fraud to contend with...
But I'm counting on Trump to have eyes wide open on this, and to make sure the voter fraud is not swept under the rug this time!

I agree, it is absolutely BEYOND insane that Hitlery should have even 38% support... about 2-3% would be understandable, but 38%?! Shutting down all those mental hospitals was a BAD idea, demonstrated once AGAIN!!!
