Bill O'Reilly takes stunning stance on guns after Orlando massacre
Business Insider ^ | 06/14/2016 | Allan Smith

Bill O’Reilly stunned many viewers Tuesday night when he called for some measures of gun control to be implemented after the terrorist attack in Orlando, Florida, that claimed the lives at least 49 people — the deadliest mass shooting in US history. […]

“There is too much gun crime in the USA, and high-powered weaponry is too easy to get,” he said. “That’s the fact. So let’s deal with it. We all have the right to bear arms, but we don’t have the right to buy and maintain mortars. Even if you feel threatened by gangsters or a New World Order. No bazookas, no Sherman tanks, no hand grenades.”

“That’s because the Second Amendment clearly states the government has a right to regulate militias, made up of individuals,” he continued. “They have that right in the name of public safety. Therefore, Congress should debate what kind of weapons should be available for public sale. And the states, the individual states, should decide what kind of carry laws are good for their own people.” …

“When I was a kid you could buy a War Surplus Anti-Tank Cannon from an Ad in the back of a Magazine for $100 or so.”

I remember that. I wanted one for Christmas but my mom said no. I remember hearing about a guy who bought one and towed in around town with his Volkswagen bug, but he never killed anybody with it.

“Well regulated meant something different in the 1700-1800’s, not what democrats want to regulate in 21st century. Well regulated in 1700-1800’s meant in good working order, or working as intended.”

The only post worth reading here. As for BOR, I wrote him off as a ratings whore 14 years ago. I wrote off Fox News altogether election night 2008.

If it were not for FR, I might have no idea what O’Reilly has been up to.

Well, there is that ‘NAME AND TOWN’ NAME AND TOWN’ old reliable mantra.

Yeah, he’s really “looking out for the folks.” As long as his bodyguards are armed, he could care less about the rights of individual citizens to protect themselves.

Bill O’Reilly is an idiot.

In the 18th century, “well-regulated” meant “well-trained.”

I heard that Bill O’Reilly once called for an end to the sale of bazookas on the Internet in the aftermath of a “mass” shooting.

Where on the Internet can you purchase bazookas?

I haven’t watched B0R since the birth certificate debacle.

Bill 0’Reilly had a chance to blow 0bama out of the water with the birth certificate issue and save many Americans from hardship under 0bummer’s disastrous leadership. But B0R took the cowards way out.

I hope YOU, Bill, is proud of your cowardness now.

I will never have any respect for Bill 0’Reilly.

It’s not cowardliness. It’s collaboration, just like with the Uniparty’s GOP wing with Obama.

So let’s get it right.... The Republicans again cave in and give the Democrats what they want and then when the Republicans ask for maybe some border security, or proper vetting of terrorists that are coming in to America or an end to sanctuary cities that refuse to obey our laws, well the Democrats just laugh at us....

This is really all about distracting real Americans on the fact that Ted Baxter and 98 percent of Fox News were cheerleaders for Barack Hussein Obama.

It’s becoming crystal clear that these traitorous fvcks helped pull off a marxist muslim coup in the United States of America. The fact that Obama is ready to yell ‘alluh akbar’ from the White House scares these talking head leftists to death.

Thus all the distractions with gun banning.

"Infringed" means not simply banned, it means, not interfered with in major AND minor ways.

Any which way.

The word was carefully chosen to prevent minor incursions upon the rights of armed Americans --- like gun licenses, permits, restrictions on full-auto status, silencers, etc., --- which we have as a people sadly allowed.

The word "infringed" has not changed in meaning since well before the Constitution was written.

There is no wiggle room with a word like "infringed".

I would also make the point that the purpose of the Second Amendment has been widely acknowledged as to allow the oppressed citizenry to defend itself against tyrannical government.

So it makes perfect sense that "infringed" also means that the citizens may have PARITY with the government, and to have parity they must have access to large weapons, automatic weapons, and yes, even mortars and other arms.

We are going to have to work hard to restore the full meaning and value of the Second Amendment, of course, because many people just don't have the will and spirit to insist on free exercise of all the rights implied by the 2E.

It seemed unthinkable 20 years ago to have so many states with concealed-carry and open-carry laws; now the majority of states have them, and our side has been winning the war for more 2E freedoms over the past two decades.

But one thing we sure as hell are not going to do is lose any more ground in the 2E battle with the left. Too much is at stake.

They are using this crisis to try to pull a fast one on the American citizen and it must not happen.

By the way a person like Bill O'Reilly is the absolute worst kind of traitor to the country. He wears sheep's clothing and pretends to be a conservative, even a history buff and lover of American culture; in fact the first chance he gets to promote gun grabbing he goes for it. Sickening, Bill.

To the showers, O'Reilly --- and no loofa for you this time.

I agree; if you can afford a Sherman, by all means go for it, and park it in the driveway. Guaranteed to reduce neighborhood crime rates.

My late father was a part of the 3rd Armored Division during World War II. He was the NCOIC of a platoon of tank retrievers—they had the job of pulling damaged Shermans and other vehicles off the battlefield, fixing them, and getting them back in action. They were easy to repair and the Army was full of men who had acquired mechanical skills in machine shops, factories and on family farms. There wasn’t much those men couldn’t fix, and M-4s that would ordinarily be written off were repaired and fought another day.

My dad had the utmost admiration for the Sherman crews. Everyone knew the long odds they faced in going up against a Panther or Tiger. In fact, the tank crews took so many casualties that during the Battle of the Bulge, infantry replacements were retrained as tank crews and sent into battle with barely one day of instruction.

For what it’s worth, Bill O’Reilly is an idiot. I guess he became an expert on tanks writing the god-awful “Killing Patton.” My wife gave me “Killing Reagan” as a birthday gift; I hated to tell her it was the biggest waste of ink and paper in publishing history. Not that O’Reilly cares; he’s got a nice little assembly line going and each book in the series adds more millions to his bottom line.

BTW, my favorite nickname for the Sherman is the one the Brits gave it, the Ronson. Named for the British cigarette lighter that lights “first time, every time.”

No, the entire Uniparty laughs at us.
Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

— Communist Goal #15
The more people realize that this goal was achieved, the less confusing the GOP(e)’s behavior appears.

“That’s because the Second Amendment clearly states the government has a right to regulate militias, made up of individuals”

*******

That, right there, was breathtakingly stupid.

As a student of history BOR should know “Well Regulated” meant “Well Trained & Disciplined”, not “Well Restricted”. By his misinterpretation, a “Regulator Clock” is one that “controls” you.
