In his weekly lesson, which is broadcast on the Jordanian Yarmouk TV channel, Professor Ahmad Nofal of the University of Jordan said that the Holocaust happened because of the "treachery" of the Jews and that "most of Hitler's ministers who perpetrated the Holocaust were Jews." Citing Holocaust denier Roger Garaudy, he said that the number of Jews killed had been 600,000, and not six million. "They added a zero," he said. Nofal further claimed: "We, the Palestinian people, are the victims of your Nazism... Your Holocaust lasted six months, but ours has been going on for 68 years."

Unless he names these people he might as well say “Most of Hitler’s ministers who perpetrated the Holocaust were Chinese”.

There was a lot of funny business going on there at the “rubbing elbows with Hitler” level. And some people that you think would know better, didn’t know better. Some of the gays that he officially hated, were in on his level of power, for example.
However, if anyone should know, surely this prof should know, that there is so much B.S. getting slung around, that it’s going to take a pretty jolly high level of proof to affirm it. “The Jews might have done XXX” is not going to fly.
And the 6 million was deduced from censuses. These people were around, a Holocaust comes, and poof now we can’t account for them any more. Did they teleport to Alaska and live there as Eskimos today? I doubt it.
No, it is true, that every effective lie has some element of truth in it. Even when people say black is white, they mean something with some kind of minimal glow in it, having forgotten what actual white is like.

It’s this kind of self back patting that blinds to actual truth, which sometimes is not complimentary to our own fixed notions.
We have canons of proof. They should apply to this assertion as well as to any other. This, by the way, is not a matter of IQ but of morality.

I was thinking of him too, and Kapos. But they could hardly be accused of what that Jordanian professor is accusing. And whatever the number, even if it’s 600,000 that’s still a huge loss to the Jews. I remember reading about one of the screenwriters for a Merchant-Ivory movie, her father, who had escaped to England had committed suicide in hearing of the entirety of his family and extended family perishing. That really brought the enormity of it home.
