Trump and Sanders whip up debate buzz (Trump: will donate debate fee to women's charity...<snicker>)
The Hill ^

Trump priced the debate, saying it would generate somewhere between $10 million and $15 million, and he suggested a women’s health organization should receive the money.

It’s masterful - a master stroke.

Really shows that Trump is a real strategist with real experience in navigating the jungle of life.

What’s Hillary got? She’s been sheltered from scrutiny and the rough and tumble of private-sector life and competition all her life.

Trump offers real value-added experience at achieving tough results. Politicians like Clinton offer nothing but talk and lies.

Paul Begala is a noted Democrat strategist who said “Never interrupt your opponent when he’s destroying himself.” I have to agree with that.

Hillary has a boatload of legal and ethical problems and Bernie is not helping things for her with his formidable appeal with California Democrats. Why not let the two of them battle it out and destroy each other in the process?

“Bite me is waiting in the wings and will be harder to defeat than Hilda”

I question this - yes, Biden if he’d started off as a candidate like everyone else when everyone else did, could be more formidable.

But desperately jumping in at the last minute when he hasn’t earned it - I think a lot of peope will be turned off to how the Dem Party is playing games with the electorate.

Don’t like the primary results? Well, we’ll just yank our candidate and impose one of our choice - it’ll leave a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths about how elections are just being treated as a nuisance by elites. Most of Bernie’s voters will all tell them to all hang.

Little Sisters of the Poor, Mother Theresa’s group, that just sorta kinda won in the SCOTUS over Obamacare/having to pay for employees’ birth control and abortions is a good idea.

“He should’ve said it could go to the Clinton Foundation and then turn around and make a joke about it.”

He should cut a check for $.25 to the Clinton Foundation and say that's because they're only worth 2 bits. Hillary + Huma = 2 bits (did I spell that right LOL) then send the remaining millions to the Little Sisters of the Poor.

I can just see Bernie supporters throwing quarters at Clinton rallies yelling “2 bits 2 bits” Great street theater.

don’t worry about it,, Trump has done 15 debates against top governors and senators and they are all dust.. Holy Cow let the man do his thing,, his thing is getting up there and telling the American people we are going to make this country great again,, Trump thrives on this stuff..

The lack of trust and confidence in Trump among his supporters is surprising. Really, this debate is a no- brainer because if Trump’s base is strong and loyal, he has nothing to loose, and has more to gain.

He is trusting his base ...you and I...to stand with him as he adds to that base. Come on supporters, where is your confidence and trust in your man? He’s going to be making bigger decisions than this over much more important issues as President of the United States and you fear to trust him with a debate against a socialist?

If Trump can’t handle Bernie, then he has no business in the highest office in the land. As President, he’s going to have to face bigger and better than Bernie Saunders.

>>>Wonder what Bernie will do if Trump says proceeds need to go to pro life organization?

What would be Trump’s response if Bernie says proceeds need to go to Planned Parenthood?

I hope you are right about Biden’s chances.

However his nomination will not be a sudden event.
Even with an indictment hanging on her head, Hillary will stay in the race at the democrat convention, saying she has done nothing wrong and she will soon be vindicated blah blah. Then it will become a contested convention because many super delegates will abandon Hillary. Then there will be several votes to pick a nominee, and may be on the 3rd or 4th or 5th ballot, Biden will be nominated. So it will not look like a pre-planned move by the power that be. Biden will take on the role of the great uniter, and will promise Bernie voters that he feels their pain and promise to address their grievances blah blah blah.

I agree Trump thrives on this stuff. I’ll be happy to admit my concerns proved to be unfounded if he pulverizes Bernie. But he might not be the pushover everyone thinks he’ll be. You can be sure all the lefties in the media and entertainment worlds will be feeding him zingers. Bernie will be well armed and prepped to the max, I can assure you that.

I’m pretty sure the vast majority of the people against Trump debating Bernie weren’t with Trump from the beginning,,

“I think you are overreacting. Trump always knows what he’s doing and does it for a reason.”

I agree. I think the debate is a great idea. They will both go after Hillary with gusto. Trump will tread lightly with Bernie but hit Hillary very hard.

By the way the winning network will supply the money to the charity.

“Sanders will never be the nominee”

Exactly. The deck is stacked against Bernie. Hillary will have enough delegates to easily win. I think it is pure genius on Trump’s part.

Bernie is not a great debater.. he and Hillary debate who is more a socialist than the other,, the contrast with Trump on the economy, second amendment, illegal immigration, making Americans safe and getting the economy to boom again will be amazing

“stop being scared

this is a win win for Trump anyway you look at it”

It sure is. I can’t believe “the sky is falling” types on this board.

“There’s a good chance Hillary won’t win California”

Even if she does not she will have enough delegates to win the dimoKKKRAT nomination. Quit wringing your hands.

Quit wringing your hands.

I wouldn’t call it hand wringing at all. Its more like thinking through the potential ramifications of things. Nothing wrong with questioning assumptions, or is there? Its a healthy thing in my opinion.

Of course they will if they think they stand to make more, and Trump knows a thing or two about ratings and ad dollars, what with the Apprentice and his campaign TV appearances and all.

If I recall correctly Trump demanded that Fox pay him to attend a debate, citing ratings and ad dollars, and they refused.

If he’s nice to Sanders, but firm in his opposition this will work well. He has many points of agreement with Sanders especially about the corruption in Washington. Ideal scenario is if they both team up and tag Hillary as the consummate Washington politician. Trump will get a LOT of Sanders voters if he does this right. Not convinced that it will happen though.
