Trump's Decision To Debate Sanders In California Is His Most Genius Move Yet
Zerohedge ^ | May 27, 2016 | Tyler Durden

If the Trump/Sanders debate proceeds as planned in California, you’re about to witness one of the most important moments of a 2016 general election that hasn’t even begun yet. To say such a debate would be an unmitigated disaster for Hillary Clinton would be the understatement of the century. Let’s explore why.

First of all, Hillary Clinton outright rejected a debate request from Bernie Sanders ahead of the June 7th California primary. Given Sanders’ recent momentum, as well as her need to persuade a significant number of his supporters to back her in November; such a denial was not only arrogant, it was highly insulting to voters in America’s largest state. From team Clinton’s perspective there was little upside to agreeing to a debate, versus easily manageable downside from a few days of negative media coverage.

Or so they thought…

“I think they will make sure the debate benefits both of them and destroy hillary once and for all.”

I think that is exactly what will happen.

The real astonishment is how many on the Right buy the BS left wing/RINO media talking point meant to force people’s assumptions. To the degree the Left fools the Right, the Left gains the advantage.

Nah, Bernie can’t attack Trump any worse than the Republican debate moderators did.

And Trump did fine then.

“This debate sure would make Clinton look irrelevant.”

People will be asking “where is Hillary”? “Why is she not debating”?

I’m obviously not as astute. How does Trump engaging a crazy socialist who has nothing to lose by a full frontal attack on Trump help Trump gain the support of Bernie’s socialist supporters? Unless Trump is savvy enough to show how wrong Crazy Bernie is by refuting Bernie’s arguments with the realities and subtleties of liberty and freedom. But I’m not sure Trump is tuned into that and even if he was, how many of Bernie’s supporters would change their minds based on Trump actually winning the debate?

More likely is Trump will not argue for the value and advantage of reinstating the Constitution as the rule of law against the feds and socialism even though that is exactly the argument. So it will not be a real “debate” and apparently everyone knows it is more of a political ploy.

And one has to wonder, what kind of MSM setup could most help Bernie and hurt Trump, the caveat being which do the MS want to hurt more, Bernie or Trump?

It’s intriguing, not without possible pitfalls, but I’m not sure how this will bring Bernie supporters to Trump.

We do not actually yet know what Trump’s calculations are re debating Sanders, or at least promoting the noise about such a thing. I quit second guessing Trump’s motives and calculation some time ago, later than I should have. Trump is simply better at this sort of thing than most or all of the rest of us.

Really?

Yes, really. What's with you hard core kopol-ade drinking Trampsters? You put your firggin' blinders on and ignore his liberal past (as recently as 2 or 3 years ago he was praising Clinton). Any time any one points out they don't particularly like Trump you have to post a diatribe as to why they are wrong? And yes, up this point he has been nebulous. Trump has been following obama's playbook, by being long on promises and short on actual details. He's given you a canvas to paint any picture you want of him, and you've done it. He's the savior of America in your mind. In my mind, he's the lesser of two evils and the incarnation of King Saul. The only difference in his modus operandi thus far with the Chicago huckster is that Trump doesn't hate America. That doesn't mean his policies won't have bad unintended consequences. It just means his policies won't be specifically tailored to destroy America.

What kind of a setup could the MSM come up with that will not ultimately redound to Trump’s huge advantage? MSM has shown no facility for trapping Trump yet. Trump understands MSM. MSM does not understand Trump.

“Hey, Bernie, you know I feel sorry for you. You’ve done all of this campaigning, taken over a year out of your life, and the Democrat Party bosses won’t let you win, no matter what. Even if Hillary is indicted tomorrow - and she should be, she’s a corrupt criminal - you STILL won’t get the nomination. It’ll go to Joe Biden, probably, and he’ll take that lying, fake Indian, that lousy Senator Warren from Massachusetts. You won’t be in the picture at all. You’ll be the answer to a trivia question, that’s all. I feel very badly for you, you’re a sincere and honest guy, just trying to do what you think is right (even though you’re wrong on almost every issue), and this is how the Democrats are going to treat you - out with the garbage. Sad, so sad!”

You're either Trump or you should be. That is beautiful. If Trump needs any coaching, which I'm glad he don't listen to even if he gets it, He should see that diddy of yours. That is exactly how he turns the tables on all of them. It won't be a "debate" (they never are) it will be a chance for Trump to grandstand at the direct expense of Hillary, Biden, Fauxcahontas, the Dem Party, and probably Bernie also. Now I'm stoked and actually kind of hope they do this.

This is one smart move!

It’s like tag-teaming Cankles Clinton, and her team knows it.

"Mr. Trump we don't have time for the National Anthem to be sung before the rally." Trump response, "Oh, yes we do."

Did that actually happen?

How can you not love a guy like that?

Great story. Hope and expect to see a lot more stories like that especially after Trump is President.

Trump is literally running rings around EVERYBODY. And, he is doing it all by himself...

By himself? I reckon God is smiling on Mr. Trump.

the core idea is to restore America as an independent, sovereign nation bound by a set of laws. The role of government would then return to serving the interests of the citizenry ie We the People

AKA reinstate the Constitution as the Supreme law of the land over the feds and DISMANTLE 80% of the $4 trillion mostly unconstitutional central government restoring constitutional state sovereignty and individual, political and economic freedom in America.
