(CNSNews.com) - As part of its efforts to address climate change the Obama administration has designated May 23-27, 2016, as Extreme Heat Week.
According to the White House, the five-day span is dedicated to having federal agencies work with communities to enhance preparedness for extreme heat events.
In recognition, the government has launched the National Integrated Heat Health Information System (NIHHIS) website this week. The website was created through a joint effort by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
NIHHIS is an integrated system that builds understanding of the problem of extreme heat, defines demand for climate services that enhance societal resilience, develops science-based products and services from a sustained climate science research program, and improves capacity, communication, and societal understanding of the problem in order to reduce morbidity and mortality due to extreme heat, the website says.

For me, May is the monsoon season.
We’ve had 5 sunny days this month.
And the rain...oh, lots of rain.
Well...if it comes from the Blight House, it must be true.
“The high temperature in Pittsburgh this past weekend was in the low 50s.”
It’s warming up this week though ... I’m sure the news will be babbling about how we are all likely going to die and that nothing aside from UN climate resolutions is going to save us.
It was supposed to hit 90 on Friday, but I see that they backed off the forecast to the mid 80s. Regardless, it’ll be unseasonably warm due to global warming.
In any areas where its cooler, there will be nothing said.
I am so sick of these cretins :-).
“Heat waves from the past...
NYC: 1879, 1882, 1883, 1895, 1896( a brutal one!), 1900, 1936, 1937, 1972.
Michigan: 1962, 1963.
Tulsa OK: 116 degrees in 1936 and 1984. I remember downtown Tulsa at 105 degrees May 5, 1972.”
We here at ClimateScam(R) have a way to explain this. We accuse anyone looking at history to be incapable of performing the various calculations required to show that everywhere is warmer and that we are all going to die.
You are incapable of ClimateMath(R) and ClimateStatistic(R) since you don’t have a degree in AGW Climatology (anyone with a degree in Climatology that doesn’t agree with us is stupid and didn’t earn the right degree). You have no right pointing this out. None!
HAHAHAHA. This is the same week announced the coldest May since records were kept.
I’m in Tacoma, Washington and it is 57 degrees with a possible high of 63. I don’t think I can fry eggs on our sidewalk with that.

Yes, upper 80’s to mid 90’s the next several days.
I’m at the Jersey Shore ten blocks from the ocean, and it’s a cloudy 75 right now. But if the breeze changes direction, comes off the water and picks up a notch it will drop to 60ish in no time.
It’s the warmest it’s been in a while.
.
Extreme bullshit week.
I’d like some warming, too. Cold, overcast, rainy all of May in southern MO - my spinach couldn’t even bolt.
Some people are more stupid than spinach.

Global Warming on Free Republic here, here and here
In spring of 2012 we planted 400 evergreen trees on our property. That year we had drought conditions here in Wisconsin.
4th of July, 105 degrees, we hauled over 800 gallons of water to those trees...and we still lost a good half of them.
That was was the most heat-related misery I have ever experienced - and that includes ALL of my time in the Army, here and abroad, LOL!
