Sanders: Democratic convention could be 'messy'

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Bernie Sanders predicted Monday that the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia could be "messy" as he pushed the party to adopt his progressive agenda, but added: "Democracy is not always nice and quiet and gentle..."

Asked if the convention could be messy, Sanders said, "So what! Democracy is messy. Everyday my life is messy. But if you want everything to be quiet and orderly and allow, you know, just things to proceed without vigorous debate, that is not what democracy is about."

Since Maduro in Venezuela will be fleeing his country soon, maybe Bernie can name him VP at the Convention. He will have All of the Country’s wealth with him.

Hillary had the backing of the superdelegates in ‘08 also. Then a few announced their shift to Obama. Then a few more. Soon the trickle turned into a stampede. The party doesn’t have to release them; the superdelegates are free to switch at any time.

I didn't know that, thank you. So since Bernie is determined to swing them, the Rat convention could be '68 all over again.

Just saw a video clip of Dan Rather getting manhandled on the ‘68 convention floor. Rather pleasant to watch, except for his triumphant chest thumping after. Bad as Geraldo.

Exactly right. Even though it became obvious in 2008 that Obama was going to win, Crooked Hillary hung in until the bitter end, clinging to her super delegates and the slim hope they would save the day. By late May, they started to trickle to Obama and by early June, the Hildebeast finally gave up.

The super delegates can change anytime. While this time Crooked Hillary is slightly in the lead on won delegates, she has lost 11 or 12 of the past 14 contests and looks to get crushed by Bernie in California. This is not an inspirational way to close out the campaign season. For her hard core followers, this has been a soul crushing experience. She is flat, listless and ready to keel over.

Bernie has a decent chance to pull close to even with her in won delegates after California. There are 712 super delegates. It will look awful if 600+ of them still vote for her after her dismal performance.

Ole Bernie has a fight song in hand...I guess this is OK to post, if it conflicts, Mods feel free to delete, sorry in advance!

Watch out you might get what you're after
Cool baby strange but not a stranger
I'm an ordinary guy
Berning down the house

Hold tight wait till the party's over
Hold tight we're in for nasty weather
There has got to be a way
Berning down the house

Here's your ticket pack your bag: time for jumpin' overboard
Transportation is here
Close enough but not too far,
Maybe you know where you are
Fightin' fire with fire

All wet hey you might need a raincoat
Shakedown dreams walking in broad daylight
Three hun-dred six-ty five de-grees
Berning down the house

It was once upon a place sometimes I listen to myself
Gonna come in first place
People on their way to work baby what did you expect
Gonna burst into flame
Berning down the house

My house's out of the ordinary
That's might don't want to hurt nobody
Some things sure can sweep me off my feet
Berning down the house

No visible means of support and you have not seen nuthin' yet
Everything's stuck together
I don't know what you expect staring into the TV set
Fighting fire with fire

One wonders, in ‘16, who will be the Eleanor Clift to get scratches and contusions on her butt from the tryst with Bill Clinton on the concrete outside the convention hall?

That was a simply excellent summation. Sanders has ALL the excitement and momentum, while Hillary has Debbie Wasserman Shultz, fraud, and a passel of superdelegates that have turned on her once before. Now Sanders is talking about how Philadelphia could be “messy.” I’m sure it could get better than this for Trump, but offhand I don’t see how. He’s agitating the Dem base about how Sanders is getting shafted, and he’s needling Hillary mercilessly on her inability to seal the deal. And he’s just getting started.

It will be fascinating to see how this plays out. The DNC clearly doesn’t want Sanders. Clinton, as you said, is flat and loosing what little steam she had. Biden only looks good because Trump hasn’t had a go at him yet. And Trump is salivating over the chance to eviscerate Liawatha Warren.

It looks like Obama’s immediate legacy is an electoral disaster. Time will tell.
