Trump’s VP Pick Prediction
Scott Adams' Blog Dilbert ^ | Posted May 17th, 2016 | Scott Adams

Posted on 05/17/2016 9:15:26 AM PDT by GilGil

As I said, predicting a VP choice is nearly impossible until the last minute because the situation is fluid. A candidate might need some help in a key state, based on current polling. Or the opponent might open up a new line of attack that needs a defense. A lot can change in a few weeks.

But as of today, and according to the Master Persuader filter, I put the odds at 90% than Trump picks Brown as his running mate.

Trump-Cruz 2016

This way we get 16 years of Cruz

That was my thoughts practically from the get go, but Cruz seems too much a self-absorbed sore loser lately. Still, one can hope!

I think Romney backing Cruz had little to do with politics and more to do with personal animus.

Agree, I am a big fan of Scott Walker! However, I do think Mr. Trump should choose a candidate from the south or the west to balance the ticket.

What happens if Hillary picks Bernie for VP? Does that make her harder to beat?

Not if Trump picks him.

Don't worry it's more likely Cruz would be the VP over Brown.

Another advantage Brown has is his last name. As silly as this sounds, it makes him seem less white.

LOL. I stopped reading after that one.

Scott Brown is no Conservative. I wouldn’t trust him.

Rubio and Kasich are avowed amnesty supporters. How is that conservative?

Steve Forbes is a Great idea!

How things might have been different had Forbes won in ‘96!

That would be a strong brilliant experienced ticket and Steve is 68 years young.

Amen to your first statement.

Has Walker removed himself from consideration for VP like most of the rest of the field? Rubio and Kasich have said they won’t do it. Trump has indicated he wants someone with Washington experience, and I think that’s wise and the only strike against Walker.

Definitely, if Mr. Adams is talking about Scott Brown, and I can't-off the top of my head-think of another known in this context, with such presumed familiarity.

That would be an insane choice, and the choosing of a loser, determined to please the least swing of the most non-swing state in the Union. He simply must pick someone outside the Northeast, if only because, like it or not, Mr. Trump is, singularly, a New Yorker.

Great question! I think it will help her with the younger and very liberal voter but not anywhere else. I don’t see how it helps her in Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida or Pennsylvania.

Newt Gingrich knows how the Congress works and can push the Congress to assure that things get done.

Trumps needs a guy with hands-on experience at that level. The choice of a female would just be pandering and not helpful to the revolution

The president is the one being judged. The VP just goes to funerals

We can disagree. The VP choice is important. I think GWB wouldn't have been elected without Cheney - remember the press with the "gravitas". I know people who voted again McCain because of Palin. Although I can't stand either one, Biden was a good "experienced" choice for the community organizer Obama. Romney wasn't my first choice but I was more happy to vote for him at the time because of Ryan. I don't think the VP has to be a lot younger, just not older ala Brewer & Gingrich. I like Sessions a lot but he's going to be 70 in December.

Trump has appeal because he's not an old politician and is running a new way of campaigning. Putting an old politician on the ticket with him might put off the Bernie voters that definitely would not vote for Hillary but might vote for Trump. I put my faith in Trump to pick who he feels is best.

Newt is too old.

And tired, and looks it. His time to be veep passed by about the time he got caught "in the saddle," so to speak, in the back of his car in a House Office Bldg. parking lot... Many folks may have forgotten, but it's guaranteed that the Demon-Rats. and not a few Republican Members, have not forgotten that Newt was the second Speaker of the House to resign mid-term, or why.

Two South-Central states’ Dems worked for Clinton. Those were the waning days of Dems in the south, but the mix worked. People actually believed they were “moderates.”
