Cruz: Those who bolstered Trump 'will bear that responsibility going forward'
The Hill ^ | ay 12, 2016, 09:45 pm | By Jesse Byrnes

Ted Cruz said Thursday that those who contributed to the rise of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will have to "bear that responsibility going forward."

Cruz appeared Thursday evening on the Houston-based "Michael Berry Show" and was asked whether he thought he was treated fairly in the GOP primary, with the host mentioning Fox News.

"Well listen, there's time for recriminations and you know, everyone who was responsible for the rise of Donald Trump, they will bear that responsibility going forward," Cruz responded.

"But there were more than a few players that played a disproportionate role in that rise," he added. "I'm going to focus, instead of looking backwards, I'm going to focus on looking forwards."

Cruz returned to Capitol Hill on Tuesday for the first time since dropping out of the GOP race but declined to endorse Trump, who is working to shore up support from establishment Republicans.

"I think we left it all on the field," Cruz said Thursday. "My one regret is that we came up short."

Cruz said he'll address the Texas GOP convention Saturday afternoon.

"The biggest message I'm going to say is simply 'thank you,'" Cruz said.

He'll rally Republicans with a message that "although the results may not have been as we wanted, that together we started a movement and this movement will continue."

Cruz said he wasn't sure if he'd address the national GOP convention in Cleveland in July, but he indicated he planned to attend out of an obligation to the some 600 delegates he won during the primary.

"I don't know if I'll have a role at the convention or not, but I'll certainly be there cheering on the delegates," he said.

“Did he ever transfer to American citizen?”

Maybe Trump can find a way to deport Cruz back to Canada, or perhaps Cuba. After all, he was at one time an illegal alien! What’s amazing to me, with all the incontrovertable evidence, that a lot of Texans still want him to be their Senator. But then, the jerks in Ryan’s district will most likely vote to keep him too. Seems as though everyone thinks their reps are “the good guys,” but everyone else’s are problematic.

The tantrums from the ‘Never Trump’ crowd will stop once they pick themselves up off the floor, dust themselves off, and put the good of the country ahead of their bruised and battered egos.

I understand their guy did not win. It. Happens. Now, the choice is down to either Hillary or Trump. That’s it. Voting third party or sitting out the election will just ensure a Hillary presidency. Trump may not be a true blue conservative, but he is a damnned sight better choice for president and the country than Hillary. In November, I am putting the country’s future first and voting Trump.

And you, Mr. Cruz, will bear the responsibility of lying and speaking for God.

Notice the plaques and accomplishments behind Trump in the picture. He is an American icon, even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. While Cruz has been in government most of his life and merely rode his coattails and foolishly thought he’d crash so he can be the nominee.

Who knows. And you couldn’t trust his answer if you asked him.

Where are all the “consistent conservatives” who used to hang out here, who bought into Cruz hook, line and sinker? Probably still singing his hosannas out in neverneverland.

Won’t bet against you. You had it (and Cruz himself) figured out.

“Ted Cruz stands for everything this site stands for.”

At least that’s what he led you to believe. The vast majority of Freepers aren’t buying it.

But then, you’re probably smarter than the 87% of Freepers who chose Trump over Cruz.

Cruz needs to be kept as far away from the convention as possible.

He’s toxic, whether he comes around to whatever may masquerade as an endorsement or not.

Like Kirstie Alley, Norman Lear, Edward Asner, Roseanne Barr, Halle Berry...

Why put someone on the S.C. who has so little regard for the Constitution, that he ignores the part which was written with people such as him in mind?

Somebody left the lid off the nut jar again.

I honestly don’t care if Cruz wants to completely destroy his career, but he’s making it personal.

Trying to undermine and destroy the Will of the People is what we have been forced to endure for nearly 8 long and painful years. This ass-hat loon is playing the same game.

Texas, you have a job to do-—take this Lyin’ loon out of power.

Indeed. I was listening to Hannity the day the little dust-up happened. Hannity asked a simple question. Cruz would not give a straight answer. That is what set off Hannity. Cannot say that I blame him.

No he doesn’t. Without Trump Ted would still openly be supporting open borders and TPP. Ted did not switch positions until Trump was gaining traction

Ted is the only who should be ashamed. Blaming others for his failings
