House GOP Warns Ryan To Back Trump
CNN ^ | May 11, 2016

Rank-and-file House Republicans are urging Speaker Paul Ryan to get behind presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, warning his resistance could lead to the party fracturing rather than uniting if he withholds his endorsement.

"It makes it harder to unite," said Rep. Raul Labrador, an Idaho Republican and leader within the conservative House Freedom Caucus.

House Republicans met with Ryan Wednesday morning for the first time since the speaker told CNN's Jake Tapper he was not yet ready to endorse the presumptive nominee.

There wouldn’t be a “Speaker Ryan” if the so-called Freedom Caucus didn’t cave. They also didn’t fight the budget. You think maybe they’ve been getting some phone calls from back home?

Was chosen by a coward to run a coward’s race for the Presidency. Chosen by about 700,000 citizens in ONE SINGLE DISTRICT to represent them and by some measure selected to head a cabal of Establishment Losers in Congress.

It is idiocy to think this man represents any measure of the entirety of this country’s Americans. Lunacy.

Yep. Each of them are before the voters in November. They know Ryan has a golden parachute on K Street. They don’t.

If Ryan doesn’t come out enthusiastically for Trump following their meeting he deserves to be destroyed.

Ryan has to support Trump or quit. My guess is he will quit as he is already also facing a primary opponent that may likely beat him. Trump will not let him stand in the way of his presidency.

Ryan is a little shi! that needs to wake up. This turd is just house speaker and will be replaced in January as he is not reelected in his State. Trump will be the CIC and will be for the next four years. I think the CIC is one hell more important that this lame little ars hold Ryan. Ryan better wake up.

Trump for President.

Trump did not divide the party. The GOP establishment RINOs who failed to carryout the stop Obama mandates provided by the voters during then last several election cycles divided the party. Ryan is one of the star culprits. Dump Ryan!

Good. I hope Ryan listens and does the right thing: support Trump and stop his attacks.

I also could see Ryan stepping down and resigning from the House. If he thinks (mistakenly) that Trump will not win in November, he may be more about running himself in 2020 and fear hurting himself by being tied to Trump’s loss. Of course, I don’t agree with that, but being a RINO that may be his thinking. And he also probably realizes that if he does not support Trump, he will be increasing his risk of losing the primary and, if Trump does win, of not being reelected Speaker in the next Congress (the vote for that will be in January and if Trump has been elected president, I could see a lot of House Republicans pushing for a new Speaker who has not been an outspoken opponent of his).

Ryan won’t last long. It sounds like there is an open rebellion already under way. Ryan obviously didn’t consult with anyone before spitting in the face of millions of GOP primary voters.

Many lawmakers said they want to hear more from Trump about how he would promote conservative principles and where specifically he stands on issues.

They can't listen to his stump speech or have their aids read his papers and explain it to them?
