WaPo: In Japan and America, more and more people think Hiroshima bombing was wrong
Washington Post ^ | May 10, 2016 | Adam Taylor

This month, President Obama will become the first incumbent American president to visit the Japanese city of Hiroshima since the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Aug. 6, 1945.

That bomb - and a second atomic blast on Nagasaki on Aug. 9 - effectively ended World War II; Japan surrendered six days after the Hiroshima bombing. However, the human costs were huge. Estimates of those killed go as high as 150,000, and even for those who survived, it was a hellish, life-altering experience.

[Snip]

In the first Gallup poll from 1945 just after the bombings, a huge 85 percent of Americans approved the bombings. However, figures from 2005 show a significant decline to 57 percent. Meanwhile, another poll conducted by the Detroit Free Press in the United States and Japan in 1991 found that 63 percent of Americans thought that the bombings were justified in a bid to end the war, while just 29 percent of Japanese did.

That's when Ronald Reagan invaded Arabiastan, killed their leader, Che Guevara, stole all their oil, and invented the oppression of women and minorities.

And that was right after we defeated Charlie Chaplin and his evil Nazi regime.

It is one of the absurdities of modern Political Leftism. They want to argue that it was some how immoral to use the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombs. The leftists want to argue we could of “Besieged” the Japanese.

That utter nonsense. The infrastructure of the Japanese islands was breaking down. Japan could not feed itself and relyed on food imports. Instead of killing Japanese Civilians in the tens of thousands. The Leftist “Siege” would of killing millions from disease, starvation and malnutrition. EVEN then there is NO indication that would of broke the Japanese will. Japanese soldiers hung on various pacific islands for decades after WW 2 ended. Even after the bombs dropped die hard militarists tried to stop the Emperor from surrendering.

Then therd is the Invasion question. What response would the Japanese been to an invasion and occupation. What do you suppose a Japanese Insurgency would of done? Also, who knows if the Japanese would of survived as a people? The Civilian and Military casualties on Siapan and Okinawa were horrific. Give the intensifying tempo of suicide attacks, the fire power brought down on the Japanese Home Island prior to and during an Invasion would of killed tens of thousands if not millions of civilians as well as military forces.

Dear Japanese & Americans,

We ask our first question - “Was the Hiroshima Bombing wrong?”

“Oh, yes! It was neither Peaceful nor Good For the Environment!”

We ask our second question - “Millions of your direct ancestors would have died if the bombs had NOT been dropped. Tens of millions of their descendants (YOU!) would NOT EXIST right now. Was the Hiroshima Bombing still wrong?”

“...... crickets......”

"In a 1975 interview Paul Tibbets said: “I’m proud that I was able to start with nothing, plan it and have it work as perfectly as it did. I sleep clearly every night”. “I knew when I got the assignment,” he told a reporter in 2005, “it was going to be an emotional thing. We had feelings, but we had to put them in the background. We knew it was going to kill people right and left. But my one driving interest was to do the best job I could so that we could end the killing as quickly as possible.”

"In 2000, he remained steadfast in his conviction that what he had done was right. He told an interviewer, “Everybody keeps trying to get me down on my knees and cry about it and say I am sorry and everything. None of us ever have.” But, when the San Francisco Chronicle asked in 1995 if he was sorry, he replied a bit less stridently: “I really don’t think ‘sorry’ is the right word. I think it’s more about regret. I regret this weapon had to be used. But I also believe we did have to use it. We used it to stop the war, to stop all that killing. It was definitely the lesser of two evils.”

As one who was alive and sentient at the time, I can tell you that it was wildly approved.

How true.

I don’t LOVE it that we had to destroy that city and kill those people. I don’t glorify it.

But I see the grim necessity in it, as Paul Tibbets certainly did. And he could live with that, as I think I could if I had been the one to drop the bomb with my own hand.

I regret that we had to do it too.

But I would have regretted it far more, and felt more guilt, if we had invaded Japan with 775,000 men resulting in the death and maiming of tens of thousands of them (if not hundreds of thousands) and I had a bomb that I could have used instead.

THAT would be real regret there.

I predict that before the end of 2016 Obama will make one more glorious AROUND THE WORLD APOLOGY TOUR.

He will trash Americans and embarrass America to the fullest extent possible.

Then he will hand out more free stuff to all those who oppose America or American values.

It saved 200,000 soldiers lives.
Japan took two bombs because they were that committed to their horrors.
So F those wanting to bleach history.

I watched Bill Whittle last night, and apparently, PJTV is going under...sad.

I was a member, though not a paying one. I kept thinking I should pay, and would have, but never got around to it.

All of his stuff is going to billwhittle.com, I think. I am definitely going to be a member there.

And that is what is being taught in many schools today. Liberal teachers teach liberal history which is heresy.

More evidence that liberals are bad at math. If we had invaded Japan as scheduled in the Fall of 1945, the war would have lasted probably at least another year, and cost the lives of up to a million US/Allied soldiers ant 10-15 million Japanese soldiers and civilians. Nukes would have been used as tactical weapons on Japanese troop concentrations, probably near/in Tokyo and other areas.

This all about the “killing off America” campaign orchestrated by Ovomit and his minions. They already kick kids out of school who wear American flag shirts. Do want to offend the little invaders...but keep taking it away.

Imagine escaping a 3rd world country only to demand the country you’ve invaded isn’t just like the s*ithole you escaped.

Americans...better quit putting up with this BS.

And was the attack on Pearl Harbor “right”?
.............................................
Hell NO. And the lying SOB’s did it while “negotiating” in Washington.

I had a run-in with a Jap writer several months ago. He said Pearl Harbor was all a “Misunderstanding.” I told him to go to hell and to stop lying about the FACT that the attack had been planned a long time in advance. His “It’s all America’s fault” speech got cut real short. I also lambasted the listeners who had sat around praising his wonderful writing. What has happened to patriotism in this country? The Jane Fondas and john Kerrys should have been hung from lampposts, not praised and worshiped like Gods.
