Donald Trump: 'Russell Moore is Truly a Terrible Representative of Evangelicals'--Really?
CP Politics ^ | May 9, 2016 | Samuel Smith

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump believes that leading Southern Baptist Convention ethicist Russell Moore is a "truly a terrible representative" of Evangelicalism.

The Manhattan billionaire businessman-turned-politician, who frequently takes to Twitter to attack the character of his critics and opponents, lashed out at the president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission with a sharply worded tweet Monday morning.

"@drmoore Russell Moore is truly a terrible representative of Evangelicals and all of the good they stand for. A nasty guy with no heart!" Trump tweeted at 5:05 a.m. EST Monday morning.

Yet those same conservatives, he added, “now are not willing to say anything when we have this reality television moral sewage coming through all over our culture.”

Russell Moore lost credence with this sweeping and erroneous charge against many of the tithers who pay his salary and also against the truth of the matter.

"Once a Democrat, always a Democrat" describes Russell Moore, who is nudging gullible Southern Baptists leftward by the inch. The next president will select four Supreme Court justices, and Moore leads Christians to believe that is not important? Russell Moore is false prophet and a saboteur.

Every election is a choice between two fallen sinners, and "Bad versus Terrible" is no less a choice than "Good versus Bad." I voted for Ted Cruz, but now Donald Trump presents our last chance to right the ship before America slips beneath the waves. A prideful "third party" protest vote is a vote for Hillary Clinton and the sure death of our Republic.

In my senior year of college in 1987, I had crossed a very good conservative with very significant influence. He was mad enough at me that he told me that I would never get anything in D.C. (I was a polysci major).

That didn’t stop me from supporting his work when he was in the right.

I grew up in West Jackson Mississppi back when it was white

A boy fought or he got picked on

Now the northeast side....the rich side where whites still hold out like Johannesburg....kids talked more

Verbal bullying as they call it now

Some of it was wit admittedly but a lot of it was snotty

We wake up to a new day and see there’s a new person The Donald says we need to hate.

No. DJT was responding to Russell Moore's publicly-expressed hate of him, even if in veiled terms.

“Here are the priorities : Islamic terrorism, borders, trade, jobs, government spending, government regulation......everything else”

Frankly it is appalling listing to the club of complainers and do-nothings act like someone’s ability to recite Bible verses is the #1 issue of this election.

Trump's tweet comes after Moore, who has argued throughout the election why evangelicals should not support Trump, said in an interview with CBS News' "Face the Nation" on Sunday that "the Donald Trump phenomenon" is an "embrace of the very kind of moral and cultural decadence that conservatives have been saying for a long time is the problem."

Let's be fair here, sonrise57. Moore can't be on the attack and then expect there to be no attack back. That's just not reasonable in a presidential campaign.

Even the Pope attacked Trump...and what did Trump do? He struck back. I don't know why a Baptist would expect anything different.

How was Jimmy Carter in any way a person who maintained strict moral character? The man was a constant liar, supported theft from the American taxpayer, and was also a pacifist (which goes against Scripture: Luke 3:14, John 18:36, Romans 13:3-4, 1 Peter 2:13-14).

If he was Biblically literate, he certainly didn’t take Scripture seriously.

How about providing some background info on just what this is all about?

I don’t know anything about Russell Moore nor why should anyone care to know of him?

I do know Donald Trump does not attack someone unless he’s first been attacked by them.

I also know Donald has a very big heart, has helped untold numbers of people, and loves America.

What the hell does Moore bring to the table?

I understand what his point is about the global church and multi-ethnic congregation, but I live in Jersey. I did not know that about Moore’s recent problem or about his interview on Face the Nation.

.. this article is more drivel by self anointed pseudo Christians and fake conservatives ..

Without getting maudlin think of the people of Portsmouth kneeling, as Nelson walked to the dock that last time. Think of Alfred praying before charging up Ashdown Hill 'like a wild boar' at the Vikings. Washington on his knees in the snow at Valley Forge. And now, when Christian leadership has never been more needed, some pharisee's comparing Trump to Baal. Throw the scumbag from the ramparts like Jezebel, I say.

Dr. Moore usually makes points that are well worth considering, even when I eventually decide I disagree. He should not be letting himself be drawn into this type of embarrassing slanging match, and neither should any other rational person. However, Twitter brings out the worst in a lot of people.

I sympathize ... I find myself in arguments with my teenagers that are just as silly, and then ask myself, “How did this happen?” You just get distracted for a moment, and the next thing, everyone’s acting like fools.

“Russell Moore is truly a terrible representative of Evangelicals and all of the good they stand for. A nasty guy with no heart!”

As a Southern Baptist myself, I am surprised that Trump was able to so quickly and accurately gauge Russell Moore. Moore is also an amnesty pimp.

Does that help? Or maybe you can study and read up on laws regulating citizenship written by Moses. Moses allowed for citizenship for foreigners after ten generations’ residence; some never.

Ethics for Moore is to allow Americans to be slaughtered by illegals from rape cultures and, as Ann Coulter says, to be slaughtered on the highway by immigrants from peasant cultures who are not use to driving.

In my circles I am seeing this trend. I agree. Outreach without compromise needs to happen from Trump and his folk.

Ignore the naysayers with their head in sand. Focus on the possible, skip martyrdom. You or others might think Trump comes up short, but would Clinton be better?

“For now the “us or Hillary” comeback is simply not enough “

Oh well. Then you are no different than the Democrat, and you guys will be seen as such. You people can sell yourself the big lie that you aren’t all you want, but if Hillary is so ok, that you are willing to engage in efforts to directly or indirectly help her then you are on her team in all but name.

Trump’s votes didnt come from cheating. His wins didnt come from cheating.

But your desire to help Hillary is nothing more than sour grapes. Sorry Cruz didnt win. Suck it up.
