Producers, editors and reporters have highlighted a "divided Republican Party" motif in their coverage of the presidential race in recent days.
A lot of this came after last Tuesday's Indiana primary and Ted Cruz's and John Kasich's subsequent exit from the race -- and the indisputable fact that some GOP leaders have publicly announced they will either not endorse Donald Trump or will not vote for him.
The Washington Post headlined "Trump Takes the Reins of a Divided GOP," while The Wall Street Journal summarized their "Journal Editorial Report" broadcast as "A Divided GOP" and MSNBC asked: "Can a Party Divided Against Itself Still Stand?"
But what of the rank-and-file Republicans -- those across the country who are not famous leaders of the GOP, but either identify with or lean to the Republican Party?
Here we find a less divided GOP than the headlines and commentary might suggest. Take a look at the accompanying table, summarizing Gallup's latest weekly data on Trump and Hillary Clinton.

This is a media fabricated crisis. Unfortunately losers like Paul Ryan give them more gas to fuel the fire.

We need to be somewhat cautious in assuming that Republicans across the nation are riven by a devastating rift because of divided emotions about Trump. The significant majority of Republicans, in fact, apparently like Trump and say they are likely to vote for him, and Trump’s image is only marginally more divisive among Republicans than Clinton’s is among Democrats.”
The GOP elitists who are being voted out of DC aren’t leaving in a dignified way. They’ve lost and they’re still (and this includes Cruz) scheming to win by losing.
TRUMP will win in a landslide.

I love Ted Cruz and in a perfect, sane world he would make a GREAT President.
Unfortunately, the country has gone completely bat-spit insane.
The root cause of this insanity is Political Correctness. Right now the ONLY candidate who has shown he has the b-s to fight Political Correctness is Donald Trump.
His WINNING the Presidency will be more important than anything he would achieve as President as it will give VOICE to people who are sick and tired of the PC disease that is destroying the country.
We NEED someone who has the guts to say America first.
I tend to agree with you. I’d like to see a poll of Trump’s support among working-class, blue-collar Democrats. I suspect that the significant increase in turnout for Republican primaries is due to Democrat crossover votes.

Cruz they hated but he became the #NeverTrump who we can control.
It's the elites and some Cruz and other Candidates which in 2008 after the primary, PUMA's were never going to vote for Obama ( 25% of the Hillary Vote) which they came home by November.
Over the next few months, the Democrats and media will be desperate to construct a “Trump is losing” narrative. For instance, yesterday, everybody was trying to say that Trump’s attacks on Shrillary over the weekend were “badly backfiring” among women.
I just don’t get it. I’m a died in the wool Te3d Cruz social conservative. But My man lost and now I support Trump. No, he’s not my favorite, but it seldom works out that way. It’s time for these Republican”weenies” to buck up and support the nominee. 5 bew Sotormayer’s would not be a joke!
