Neither Clinton Nor Trump [#NeverTrump]
Weekly Standard ^ | May 16, 2016 | William Kristol

Posted on 05/06/2016 11:51:45 AM PDT by C19fan

I have always voted for the Republican presidential candidate. From Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford to Ronald Reagan (twice) and George H. W. Bush (twice) and Bob Dole, from George W. Bush (twice) to John McCain and Mitt Romney—I've checked the box next to those eight names on all 11 occasions I've had the chance. About half the time, I've voted for someone else in the primary. But even in those cases I never hesitated before supporting the Republican nominee in the general election.

Kristol has been around a long time. This blather is nothing but BS. He knows well to do as he suggests is to hand the election over to HRC, and the Democrats.

I admit I’m not a Kristol person. Never have been. Don’t like the guy, but his premise in this article is brazenly against the recovery of our nation by we the people. His is a plea for status quo, establishment supremacy.

GTH William Kristol.

Isn’t Kristol a neocon? People like him do not want to see an end of pointless wars in the ME and elsewhere.

Kristol is an idiot. And Hillary thanks him for pushing for another candidate to run.

Kristol is the reason we have a Donald Trump as the nominee. The Washington DC establishment hasn’t listened to or been concerned with the needs of the people in a very long time. Kristol is very much a part of that establishment.

Billy, you and your inside the beltway pals didn’t listen to us. We’re not going to listen to you.

Another non-endorsement endorsement for Trump. All win for Trump here.

Billy Krystal and all the neocons seem to be most upset about Trump’s openly nationalist USA first stance.

I wonder why......

I have always voted for the Republican presidential candidate... George H. W. Bush (twice) and Bob Dole, from George W. Bush (twice) to John McCain and Mitt Romney

And he expected us to vote for his GOPe candidates.

But now that's not GOPe, he says screw you guys, I'm going home.

Kristol living in fantasy land

Well, of course he is.

How about a new political party for Kristol, Tinker Bell and the rest called the "Green Unicorn Party." There is substantial discrimination against Green unicorns, merely due to the color of their skins. The "social justice" warriors would vote Green Unicorn en masse, while demanding their rightful safe spaces. Lots of Demorats would as well, taking votes away from Hillary even though her fantasies are nearly as great as Kristol's.

Trump has exposed the lie that these “leaders” are conservative, or spokesmen, etc. for those who are conservative and love liberty.

Instead, it is revealed that they are establishment, globalist hacks.

But even in those cases I never hesitated before supporting the Republican nominee in the general election.

I hesitated a couple of times. OK, I didn't really hesitate, but I voted against the other guy rather than for ours. There were a few times I was more enthusiastic than I should have been, too. (That really covers all of them since Reagan.)

As with Iraq, Kristol living in fantasy land. His push for a 3rd party candidate would guarantee a Clinton victory.

Agree with all of your statement, but the last. The poseur, who is the son of the avowed Neocon "Godfather," properly vetted has far more negatives than Donald Trump, or even Hillary Clinton. His kiss of death on any "3rd Party"--it would probably come in 5th--would be obvious; but in any event, it would draw more heavily from Hillary than from Trump.

Why is that so? Because Donald's greatest appeal is in the fact that he clearly puts America First--no ifs ands or buts. The bulk of the Republican holdouts are driven to a major extent by the "politically correct" shibboleths that are destroying American education, journalism, theology, politics, etc..

Trump trumps them with normal people by rejecting those shibboleths for reality, and by putting America First puts the Billy Kristols in the same boat with the contemporary Democrats. His new Party will simply draw off Democrats disgruntled by Hillary's antics. It will certainly not draw off anyone who joins Trump in putting America First.

“As with Iraq, Kristol living in fantasy land. His push for a 3rd party candidate would guarantee a Clinton victory.”

And that there is the plan. The Bushes, Kristol, George Will, Romney, etc all want Hillary to win over Trump.
