White House admits it played us for fools to sell Iran deal
New York Post ^ | May 5, 2016 | John Podhoretz

Congratulations, liberals of the Washington press corps and elite organizations: You’re a bunch of suckers. We all know this because the Obama White House just told us so.

In an astounding New York Times piece by David Samuels, senior White House officials gleefully confess they use friendly reporters and nonprofits as public relations tools in the selling of President Obama’s foreign policy — and can do it almost at will because these tools are ignorant, will believe what they’re told, will essentially take dictation and are happy to be used just to get the information necessary for a tweet or two.

“The average reporter we talk to is 27 years old, and their only reporting experience consists of being around political campaigns,” Rhodes says. “They literally know nothing.”

"What the Samuels piece shows is that the Obama administration chose to attempt to get its way not by winning an argument but by bringing an almost fathomless cynicism to bear in manipulating its own clueless liberal fan club."

Ben Rhodes is a senior Obama advisor and the brother of the President of CBS News. He has total contempt for the media, Congress and the American people.

The self described conservatives in Congress are afraid to oppose him or Obama. Being played for complete saps and always giving in is consistent with their so called Conservative principles.

There are wider implications to what’s being explained in this article. The fact is, all over the country, nobody does their job properly any more. Incompetence and indifference are now pretty much the norm.

Recall that early on the whitehouse set up its internal press corp styled organization. It was like a filter between the press (HA), and the public. They sifted the info and put out their own news. Rhodes is saying exactly what happened i.e. the Obama News Agency simply puts out press releases to the various fellow travelers and they print it as gospel. No one dare asks, nor has the intellect to question, anything. Right out of the 1984.

Now, while the media is made up of a bunch of liberal simpletons, we SUPPOSEDLY have a branch of government that is supposed to oppose or at least question what the Executive is doing. Crickets. Worse, rubber stamps.

And when everything goes south, the Republicans, who had nothing to do with the deal, will get the blame. The left is deliberately and systematically destroying this country.

Most Journalism Majors, especially at lib colleges, take that up because as long as you "parrot" back the lib agenda to profs, it is an easy cirriculum.

The sad thing is that these morons are STILL playing the fool after all this time dealing with the 0bama regime.

Well said. In my mind, a good example is the inexperience of reporters cited. In another time by the age of 27, a reporter had been around the block and perhaps attended at least one fair. Now their biggest accomplishment is a well rated “education” if not outright indoctrination sans meaningful knowledge.

“The Whitehouse never sold this deal to anyone...they just did it.”

Apparently Republican Senator Bob Corker was sold:

That is so true. Incompetence is rampant in today’s workplace. It seems that when a business transaction takes place WITHOUT complications, slip-ups and errors, it’s the exception to the rule. I can’t even imagine how much money is wasted through error and sloppiness.

My son was commenting on his new work place recently - he said he noticed it ran very smoothly. His previous workplace had many “diverse” workers. I pointed out that many errors occur when people don’t completely understand the spoken and written language. I reminded him that God had the tower of Babel stopped by using the same tactic!

A member of The White House Press Corps would be unwise to defy to master’s will or to not “go along” in carrying the banner of the preferred and promoted message ... if an individual did so they might raise their hand for 7 or so years and never be “recognized” in the press room. And of course, behind the scenes, strings are being yanked to find a more suitable or pliable replacement. You tell me it ain’t so...

The Press wasn’t fooled, they felt honored to advance the Obama agenda.

Wow... read most of the NYT article too.

This is how Obama has been winning. If conservatives want to have a chance, we need to better handle social media.

Obama has a fiction writer managing all this stuff for him. (SMH) Brave New World baby. Deal with it or die.

I suspect Trump can play hard ball in this arena too.
