Other than the possibility of GOP convention shenanigans the primary is over. Trump is the nominee. Yet today on talk radio and in the punditry and elsewhere I see people still saying they won't support him.
The most common objections-
"Trump is not conservative."
Perhaps, but (look them up) his stances on the issues have a big overlap with conservatism. More than Romney or McCain ever had.
"He doesn't mean it"
When the media went after him for his positions he still stood by them steadfast. Most republicans would have caved under such pressure. Trump did not.
"His past is liberal"
Yes, he has had some things in his past that look bad. So what should we do? Stay home and get everything we all KNOW we don't want? or take a chance that Trump might be sincere in his change of mind? if he is not, and wins, then in four years we can vote him out.
It was either Trump or Jethro Bush. There was never a third door.
Trump isn’t my dream conservative candidate from Central Casting.
Keep in mind Ronald Reagan couldn’t win today. The country is vastly different from the one in 1984.
Trump is the only national candidate the GOP has on offer.
The #NeverTrump movement has no credible alternative to present - certainly no one with Trump’s star appeal.
As we go into the general election its Trump or Hillary.
I intend to vote for Trump. We need to get off our butts and work hard to make him President.
8 years of Obama have been an absolute disaster for our country and Hillary promises more of it.
That’s exactly what America doesn’t need.
Read Trumps positions on the issues. Would you rather a president with those stances or Hillary? This is an easy choice.
ANGER & FEELING BETRAYED BY THE GOP was huge in almost every state including Indiana yesterday.
This anger propelled and shielded Trump. He is now the PRESUMPTIVE NOMINEE.
To the Cruz gang, your guy ran a hard race, I know it hurts, give it some time and come back, I and the majority of us here at FR will welcome you with open arms.
Maybe it would be better to say “It’s time we all worked together to stop the Hildabeast”.
You don’t have to get on the Trump bandwagon to do that.
But we can all get on the “Stop Hillary” bandwagon.
That will mean that in the end, even if we don’t “support” Trump we can cast our vote for him as a means to stop the Hildabeast.
Not sure if they will ever get on board. The party is leaving them behind.
I love the man’s message, it’s the ego I don’t trust.
Let us take what we can and work to improve conservatism as we grow.
Trump it is, and we know that is better than Hillary
God help us and God bless America.
AND THAT IS THE THING TO KEEP UPPERMOST IN YOUR MIND AT ALL TIMES! Wash rinse repeat^2
The choice is Hillary or Trump (and Bernie would be even worse, but is unlikely)
If you want another 8 years of hell brought about by democrats and Alinsky troglodytes like Hillary, then be ready to defend that choice.
It is what it is.
I wish we had better choices, and it is not a perfect world, but Hillary would be a disaster. And Reagan is dead. But if we are going to fight in Reagan’s name we have to start with the basics. And allowing Hillary (or Bernie Sanders) to win out of spite would be irresponsible.
Ok..so what DOES happen with the remaining primaries? Do the people of those states still have a vote?
I'd love to see if I could bring you to our team..
Not an argument, I promise. Simply some "reaching out" that seems to be desired.
The fact is that I want Trump's primary opponents and their supporters to join us. We're stronger together.
Donald Trump is at best, a Moderate Democrat.
A Liberal Republican.
A compromise for Constitutional Conservatives that are desperate for a win against Hillary.
And yet the MSM will paint him as a radical “ring-winger” when compared to Hillary.
The choice will be between the “Left” and “Far-left”.
God help us all.
I do not know any men, real men that can listen to her...let alone vote for her. Do what Bill did, choose someone else.
I have to admit I went back and forth between Trump and Cruz. I liked Trump better on immigration and he took on the media. BUT Cruz took on his own party when they went liberal and cruz has proven bobna fides.
But that’s over now. Trump is the nominee, we can either back him and give him a shot or we can let evil witch Hillary become pres.
For me the choice is obvious.
Trump won fair and square - time to unite.
